  1. I support full inclusion. I'm 65 and hunt with a recurve. The type of bow you are too lazy to learn to use - why be dishonest about it?
  2. Which are immature deer - as has been pointed out to you by several. So stop saying you target mature bucks when in reality you shot the human equivalent of a teenager. Nothing wrong with shooting them legally - just not what you claim them to be.
  3. So you do shoot immature bucks. 4.5 is just bordering maturity. Anything under is not a MATURE buck regardless of where it lives - especially 2.5's. A 2.5 is equal to a high schooler. Telling people not to shoot a 1.5 so you can whack them a year later as a young teenager is just plain funny - respectfully of course.
  4. Simple question - what is a mature buck? I am the 2nd to ask.
  5. Just curious - you will only shoot a buck that you age at 4 1/2 years or older?
  6. I'm dropping cable and going with a combo of Roku w/netflix and amazon prime with sling tv for networks. Then subscriptions for HBO and a couple others. Hunting shows probably have a streaming option available. Less money total, no contract like w/satellite, and less clutter/more selection and lots of on demand. Little work to put it all together but worth it I think.
  7. He doesn't know where he hit. No way anyone here could know either. Even with a perfect heart lung shot, there can be scant blood for several yards. Waiting for morning and more light is probably the best option for less experienced trackers.
  8. Many have a thermopile not a thermocouple. When they go bad, there may be enough millivolts generated to light the pilot but will drop out when the burner is lit. It is almost never a bad valve. Sometime a simple pilot adjustment is all it takes. A bit more flame and/or adjusting it so it hits the top 1/3 of the coupler/pile.
  9. Sounds like an attractant scent - which can work. Covers cannot.
  10. Cheap little stove to start with. With the crack it is worth nothing and unsafe. Crack most likely from a log roughly loaded when hot or overfired. Never designed for firebrick - maybe cast iron panel on the inside (missing) and sand or built up ashes on the bottom. 36" clearance to combustibles all around. A minimum chimney system is $400 plus now. Cheapest chimney to run is straight up. I would not sleep in a building with it burning. Check Tractor supply or Lowes for a LISTED stove. Few hundred more but a 1000 times safer with closer clearance to combustibles and hearth pad requirements. Based on 40+ years in the stove/fireplace industry.
  11. But it would go great with your topnot.
  12. Only in a sealed container does it approach 3 days. From: Ozone in indoor environments: concentration and chemistry.
  13. Goal is not elimination but reduction. Reduced scent may lower the threat level. Deer do react differently when they perceive you say at 20 yds vs 100. Wildcats is right - ozone is highly unstable and breakdowns quickly. We use it in the motel - a high dose machine for 10 to 30 minutes. Within 2 hours, it has completely dissipated and is safe.
  14. The impact is the same for herd numbers the following year whether you kill the doe before or after she gets pregnant.
  15. And what is the average hunter density sq/mile in the NZ compared to the SZ?
  16. Be careful with that. With only 8 acres, they may do the same thing.
  17. You would be good with that??!! How about the idea that people coming on and utilizing land I paid for, maintain and pay taxes on should be my decision. Or just leave your keys in your car, front door open and the fridge stocked so I can grab a bite and go for a ride.
  18. System had to be changed - the old one was not supported anymore. Bumjohn has explained this and also stated there will be bugs to get worked out that will take some time. Your options are be patient and live with it, turn off all until it is debugged (if it really is the software) or leave.
  19. Besides the fact they are selling out the back door, they are not paying the federal excise tax on archery products that all US manufactures do. IMO knowingly buying knock offs is the same as stealing or buying hot merchandise out of the back of a van in a parking lot. If I don't like the price of something I don't use that as justification for theft from the company.
  20. Very little/any private land is going to be available.
