  1. Moog and I both hunt with recurves and are for full inclusion. Much of the crossbow opposition comes from those who have no problems choosing a compound over the far harder recurve/longbow. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
  2. Feel free to tell us what other possible reason there is to choose a compound over a recurve.
  3. They are according to the IBO, several other archery organizations, and way more than 50% of the states. There is one reason that someone chooses a compound over a trad bow - they want or need something easier. There is no other - trad bows have been used effectively for 1000's of years. Just have to put in the time to become proficient and/or accept some limitations. Kind of funny how 2 recurve hunters on this thread support full inclusion, but some compounders want their level if easy to be the bar. There is a word for that.
  4. They are either archery equipment or they are not. A crossbow does not morph into something else when different people shoot it.
  5. Bad parenting or not there is no way a gorilla should be in an enclosure a 3 year can get into as easily as this one did.
  6. Belo - the answer is: one chooses the compound over traditional equipment because they either want or need easier archery equipment. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that decision - until they decide their level of easier should be the bar for all. Then they become hypocriticale. The discussion is what archery equipment - string powered - is to be used in the bow season. Nothing to do with spears, knives or any other non archery equipment.
  7. Like asking someone if they stopped beating their wife and only acknowledging yes and no replies.
  8. 1 question - if you shoot a compound why not a recurve?
  9. You can get current GOT season on Netflix for less than $20/month total?
  10. Larry - What is considered a young buck by the group?
  11. Cleaner? http://www.thefederalistpapers.org/us/new-report-on-electric-cars-blows-open-the-green-energy-scam?utm_source=BPR&utm_medium=BPR&utm_campaign=BPR
  12. The deer in the donation program all get ground and processor gets paid by the lb. I know of one in the program where the backstraps and loins never make it to the grinder.
  13. Beautiful bow Moog. If I wasn't married to my DAS original hunter, I'd have one. Are you running the BW D97 string?
  14. I see no mention of this and never had an issue sending one.
  15. Advocating for all bows to be allowed in bow season is far different than supporting a 1 season all weapons. But you know that.
  16. I have a stand in a group of 5 trees that I have taken 9 deer with a bow from over the years. Would have only been one with a crossbow because of the horz clearance needed.
  17. Arrows touching at 20 yards is a 60X 300 perfect score on a NFAA round. Are you saying that should be the minimum for hunting?
  18. Few years ago many were being sighted in the Homer, Scot, Sempronious area. I know several who shot one when it was legal - always as a target of opportunity hunting something else. Never heard of any one targeting them and and then taking one. Too few, too scattered and always moving for food. Not heard of any the last couple years.
  19. By knowing that the 1st shot of the day and then the 1st of the following groups is on the mark. Or you practise shooting one arrow at a time.
  20. Most who use one and are anti crossbow will not because they want their level of easier to be the bar. My memory isn't good enough to know where each of you falls on that. Me - I hunt with a recurve 90% of the time but support full inclusion. Have a couple stands that are better suited for a compound and generally shot a deer/year with it from one of them. Just no fun to shoot it - probably don't average 50 shots a year with it.
