  1. Better hang on for the ride. I think in due time a few past conversations on this site of what could never happen will come to be known. A few more years and nothing will be the same!
  2. Wish i could get away that easy. 60hp pushing a 5ft, 3pt hitch snowblower is the only thing that will clear my driveway and i still shear pins with that. Lets not forget about the bucket on the tractor to move the banks at the end of the drive so you can see if anybody is flying down the road!
  3. So True. If anybody knows deer they know their gut changes with the seasons to be able to adjust and eat other foods to say alive. If they are started on feed before they really need it they will be fine. No animal should be fed a straight corn diet thats for sure! I really.really think its funny that they say dont feed the deer because of cwd. How many deer die each year because they starve to death? On the other hand it takes up to 5 years for a deer to die from cwd if they happen to get it. Now add up how many deer make it to even their 3rd birthdays in most any state. If you were to weigh whats going to kill a deer in Ny state..Starve,car,hunter yote's,ehd, cwd. What deer would live the longest life?
  4. Some looking for votes because they think they will get the boot. Some may have a change of heart untill voted back in and then back to their old ways! Not sure i believe any..Change of heart..stuff. Politics at work. At their best!
  5. Not sure if those are all Ny bucks but man there are some keepers in there for sure! Vote's In!!!
  6. Yup..No God and No Gun's! Aren't we in a nice place in this world.
  7. Well is this not interesting! http://commonsenseca...rms-treaty.html
  8. You spoke these words in a post awhile back. if they can accommodate those desires without compromising the objectives of the plan! (Quote) When it comes to any kind of rule or law these words ring true and mean. If the public"s thoughts and desires are the same as the ones we just came up with behind closed doors, we will listen. In today's world the people's thoughts mean very little and will change nothing that those in power have already decided is a done deal. We just went through one such case with Dept of Ag and dec where the rule/law was in place before there was even a public comment period opened. You would have to be a fool to think you really matter anywhere but the voting booth but as was said before, if it gives you a warm fuzzy feeling that you think you matter, that choice is yours!
  9. Yeah ok..Hydrofracking was never truly decided behind closed doors because all the top dogs behind that door were not in favor. The truth is..just like the safe act...we mean shit to them when it comes to that and our voices mean even less. If they want it done...its done! The only place the publics voice has any kind of meaning is at the booth. So much more in today's crooked govmt.
  10. Well have you ever been involved with a rule or a law that was on the table to be made but was not put through because of pulic comments? I agree about making your voice heard by someone but 99% of the time it falls on deaf ears. If they say its going to happen behind closed doors....Its a done deal and your voice or mine will not change that!!
  11. Like it really matters. Pubic comments mean nothing when the choices are made behind closed doors long before the public. Be it hunters or non. even have a clue there is something on the table. The comments of the public means nothing to some behind those closed doors!
  12. Yes and then the dec starts counting them and thats how we get our deer numbers for Ny State. They say..Man there are alot of deer in that field, there must be alot in this whole unit.
  13. Welcome. Where are you located. We have property on High Banks Rd and just bought a cabin and land over just outside letchworth in Portageville.
  14. l think many would be shocked at the size of some of the bucks taken in Ny that most people never see. Some say Ny cant be like Ohio and such because of land layout, people, ect, ect. I dont believe it myself. I know in the areas i hunt down in 8m and 8h there are many great deer taken every year and many seen that are not taken. If some gun dates were changed and maybe some dates of seasons moved around i dont think AR would be needed and within a few short years, more of those 200in bucks would be taken. We take 120-150's just about every year without much trouble so i think with a little work those numbers could go up. Those 8# areas are only places i have hunted. Im sure there are many, many other areas just as good or better!
  15. Man you just got over a case of...put you in the bed sickness...and now you sign up for this??? You like pain? lol
  16. Cool video but that last shot on the 3 does was a little iffy from the first angle. With the head of the doe on the left nose down and the angle of the arrow going into the shot doe, it looks as though there could have been a pass threw with the arrow smashing the doe on the left in the face. Cool back angle shot from the second camera!
  17. I saw it Saturday afternoon. No glory there. The tough call was to let the 4 affies go and know you are going to have the rath of hell on you within a matter of a hour or string them up. Kids included, Kill them and carry on with the mission. That would have been a hard call in anyones shoes. Kill or be Killed. Kinda cool that in the end, he saved a kids life at the start of the movie and a kid has a huge part of him leaving with what skin he had left! Not much into movies here but that one, I would say if you have the chance to watch it, Do so!
  18. Ya. No Shat!!!! I heard what you said about that little buck i shot with my crossbow in the pile of corn i had out on the private land i stole the trail cam from last year!!! Just mind your own affairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Edges and funnels are the tickets to success. Scout the sigh which will lead you to feed and bed. Hang stands back off on the edges and funnels. Play the wind and you will see most deer that use the property. Maybe find those spots now with no snow on the ground, hang a couple trail cams up this summer on the spots you find and then pick out your tree! Success!!!
  20. There have been tests done on farms that go like, If you back the feed off the does for for a couple months before breeding them they will throw more buck fawns. Some say it works. The theory is mother nature takes over and tells the doe that feed is low in the area so fawns are born that wont effect the herd as far as making more animals in the herd. Females get bred and have fawns where as males dont and males leave the areas they are born in! I know our farm down next to letchworth had a huge number of buttons this year compared to years past!
  21. I dont know about that theory either. I have taken hooves off deer on the farm that have torn them in half and there is a heck of alot of blood down there. Maybe a vein or artery comes around the part of his leg that is hurt. First off before that leg can come off he would have to break the bone first. Thats a tough bone on a deer! Blood flow would have to stop all together!
