WHY? See first 4 words of your post....
  3. Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas @wolc123
  4. I am disappointed I had a bad shot on a nice buck while he was in an ideal shot position. I grossly overestimated my ability to remain calm and make the perfect shot. I am glad the buck was taken during gun season though! I agree with Bowman Mike, more time with the bow and maybe less time with the gun is in order!
  5. I gotta say the decorating skills of HNY are far beyond our household! We just slather on some frosting and a few sprinkles and call it a day! My compliments to the artists!
  6. Merry Christmas to the whole forum !!
  7. I like he nuts variety and cranberries too! Looks great!
  8. Otto - of course! My buddy had a Brittany with a great nose and ability to find birds, his name was Radar. I thought that was a cool name for a dog, especially a pointer. We had a black lab named BRIQITTE, black like charcoal. Also had a yellow female named Nikki, after the character on LeFemme Nikita, a show we used to watch.
  9. Thanks everyone for the comments, especially Grampy! I asked at my local sportsman club if they host or teach a class and was told that they do not. So DEC will have to assign me someone as my mentor.
  10. I've been thinking about this ever since I took my Archery class two years ago. Let's just say that instruction program left a lot to be desired. I'm not sure if I can do a better job or not, but I guess I will find out. I've spoken to two different former instructors and gotten some feedback from them too (not overwhelmingly good). So I am going in with eyes open. I do have some experience teaching and have been hunting for almost 30 years, so hopefully I can help get a few more hunters into our ranks. I'd love to hear from others on their experiences as instructors. @grampy I think you mentioned you are or were an instructor?
  11. Size 42, but they run small. So closer to an actual 40. Worn a couple of times, no damage or pulls. $25 shipped anywhere in NYS. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  12. Size 40, with 32 inch inseam. New, never worn. Waterproof, has Cordura fronted pants legs. $30 shipped anywhere in NYS. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Great reel! Especially for the price. I try not to use 2 piece rods, although they are much easier to pack and carry around.
  14. New reel, loaded with line and backing. Never used, box included. $40 includes shipping anywhere in NYS. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  15. I used it once and determined it is not my style. $30 includes shipping in NYS. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  16. I have not. I am going to try to get it out on Saturday, along with a few of my other cameras. I pulled all my cameras last week to checks batteries, etc in order to set them out for the winter season - see who survived.
  17. I did get out this afternoon for a last run at it. I bumped a doe early and had no shot unfortunately. I was within 30 yards of it when she took off. I found her bed, looks like she was there all day. No deer this season for me, but I had a lot of great hunts and close encounters. I certainly learned a lot and have a long list of property improvements in mind. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  18. Nada today. Snow was crunchy and loud underneath a nice fluffy layer on top. I did find some nice fresh track and followed it for a while. I think I am bumping them way ahead of me and I am not even seeing them at all. Tomorrow should be windy and snowy. Any suggestions on how to hunt the last four hours of the season? I need a Hail Mary play called from the sidelines!
  19. Headed out now for a slow walk and sit along the way. I can’t still hunt, I suck at it. So slow walk it is.
  20. It’s owned by the Congel family, they own Destiny USA and several other malls in NYS. Bob, the founder, has been sick for quite a time, and the sons are not as interested in it. Great people that have worked hard all their lives, however, you will get differing opinions on the methods they used along the way. They do use it for corporate retreats and meetings quite often. I would think some University or Fortune 500 company will buy it for that purpose. Unlikely that an individual will step in, but you never know. I’ve seen pictures of some of the fenced in elk and deer taken.
  21. I like the barn wood look too. To make the wood look really sharp, clean it gently with a pressure washer, let it dry good and hit it with two coats of satin polyurethane. It really makes the wood pop out.
  22. Very cool! Adding the board will really make it pop.
