  1. Really? Seems early. In CNY, the season is about 2 weeks late, so we will be canning in 3 weeks or so. I just bought a new motorized strainer and meat grinder (made in Bologna, Italy) Can’t wait to use it. Hoping to do at least 100 quarts this year. We only did 80 last year. Also planning to pickle some green peppers, maybe freeze up some roasted red peppers too. Just have to find the time.
  2. I have the Triumph and like it too. Very easy to use and accurate. I’ve taken 2 deer with it so far, both within 40 yards. If I ever decide to get another one, I’d like to get a Lyman Deerstalker. Pretty cool looking gun!
  3. I don’t mind the smell at all (although the liquid $hit they spray on the fields is pretty bad), it’s just a funny thing to smell out of a can.
  4. Is it just me or does the Fluid Film smell like cow manure?
  5. Happy birthday to THE DUDE! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  6. Very happy with my first group in 2 months. At 20 yards. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  7. Tully Agway will probably have it. So will The Baldwinsville Farmers Co-op and the Farm Supply in Deruyter (can’t remember the name I don’ think it is Agway)
  8. All Lefty here! Everything.....
  9. I have a smooth bore slug barrel with a rifled choke. Any recommendations for that? I’ve used Remington Accu-Tips for the past few years with good success.
  10. I pulled a few cards yesterday and have a couple of target deerr. Look behind him, that one looks WIDE!

    Baby Biz

Congratulations to you and the Mrs!! That is great news!
  12. I looked at that model. Looks real comfy! I like the window setup too, will try to duplicate. Maybe even the 6 sided, might not be too hard.
  13. I am gathering materials to build a wood blind that I can use during archery, but also during the gun and muzzle-loader season. I've already ordered the "elevators" to secure the floor deck to the 4x4 posts, and I also decided on 12' in height. It will be mostly for 1 person, maybe 2 at times, so I am planning on a 6'x6' floor deck, using 12' long 2x4 material with little waste. At least 7' high on one side and 8' or so high on the other. That should create enough pitch to let snow fall off naturally as well as enough height inside for drawing my bow. I will build in in pieces so it can be assembled in the field. I do need some suggestions on how the windows should layout, both in size and location. Looking at the raised blinds available commercially, they all have longer vertical windows for the archery blinds, and wider horizontal windows for gun blinds. The archery/gun blinds have a combination of both. Any suggestions would help, I've looked over many of the blinds posted here and elsewhere, and have gotten a lot of good ideas. Thanks,
  14. That is a big scandal in the roadside stand business!
  15. It’s not clutter if there is a 50% chance you will need it at some point in the future!
  16. I had same types of issues when I bought a used boat, you will eventually work through them, hopefully without any big surprises! I had a bearing blow in Canada and that was a chore getting fixed in the middle of nowhere. Nice looking barn too! Looks like you have a cozy place for all your toys. My wife calls my barn my Tony’s Toy Box.
  17. Paula, in my area there is always a guy with an ad on Craigslist offering to come pick up bee hives for free. Try your local area under Farm and Garden. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  18. TF, don’t bother with pre started pea plants, they easily germinate from seed right in the soil and as soon as you can work it. Even early April is ok to plant peas. If you can’t find seeds locally, try Harris Seeds out of Rochester. They have a website and will ship.
  19. I searched for a used tractor for almost a whole year, driving all over the place. After a handshake deal gone bad, I went to the local John Deere/Kubota dealer and they had at least 10 used models for me to choose from, all ready to use and at a decent price. You can certianly save money with a private sale, but if you need a tractor today or this season, and/or you don't have a lot of tractor experience, try a local dealer. (I used Cazenovia Equipment)

    Biz Truck

Get some mud on those tires! BMW to a pick up truck, an interesting turn in life. When you have a pick up truck, you will always have friends. (Wanting help moving)
  21. Yes, Fruit Tree Spray is a insecticide/fungicide. I'm not sure it is listed for use on vegetables such as squash, etc. Could be Sevin helped the powdery mildew - I'm not sure how though. As far as I remember it is just an insecticide.
  22. Belo - Sevin is an insecticide - kills insects. You need a fungicide - kills fungus..... LET EM GROW - Try "Tomato-Potato dust" - which actually is both an insecticide and a fungicide. It is a good all purpose garden product. If you want a fungicide alone, they are out there, even Home Depot has a good selection. And probably a lot more organic stuff from when I was selling this stuff.
  23. That "R" in the corner is our barrel reserve, extra time on the oak! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  24. Don’t trim the stalks back in the fall. All the new flowers grow off the old shoots, so if you cut them back in the fall, no new flowers will come in the spring. I wait until early summer just before they are ready to blossom to remove any old stalks still poking past the new stalks. Nice flowers Biz! If you have white hydrangeas, feed them Mir-Acid to get them to turn blue.
