Even though the small gun shop in town said that business has dropped off I do not think they will go out of business, there prices have always been as good or at times better then the big box stores and have not ran out of ammo as far as I can tell,And have every type from the old soft point to latest plastic tipped and solid copper ammo of every major brand.They might charge $.50 to $ 1.00 a box more for ammo but it would cost more to drive 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to one of the bis stores to buy it .A good part of there business is from people coming up to there properties from down state or out of state, who must pass many of the big box stores on the way up.

Ok you are still hunting or stalking a deer or what ever game animal ( not everyone hunts from e a tree stand ) and sits in one spot all day long.How do you judge your distance now.

Ok after all of the BS on this thread, How many of you out in the woods hunting ( with no range finders ) can accurately tell the difference from 40 to 50 or 60 yards. Not to easy with a long or recurve or compound bow. The difference with most X bows they use a Scope and with some scopes you can judge the distance of the target. Been hunting with every thing legal in NYS for 60 + years so do not try to BS the question.

You buy a firearm from a Big Box Store they hand you the box with the firearm in it and send you on your way. The Mom and Pop store would show you the firearm and say come and pick it up the following day ( they too it apart and degreased all of the packing grease out of it ) lightly oiled it and re assembled it. You paid a few dollars more but you could take it out in 0 degree weather, sight it in and not have it jam up.

My local gun shop said last week that business has rely dropped off.

Just ordered a new Leopold VIII 2.5 x 8 with the BC reticle for my 30-06 . Not cheap but looked threw an older one on a used rifle a few times and it is still nice and clear.

Saw many young ones with there moms and pops this year.

Since I do not like hot sausage, What would happen if I used regular store bought sweet pork sausage meat and mixed ground venison into it ?.
