  1. Oh it's a thumper alright! Drops deer like a bolt of lightning.
  2. Time for the big boy to go. Selling a Browning X-Bolt Stainless Stalker in .338 win mag with a Leupold VX-2 scope with CDS and Browning rings. Hard hitting, very accurate rifle with maybe 100 rounds through it. Includes a box of Federal Premium 250gr ammo. Asking $900.
  3. Yesterday my son came over and borrowed a box call, he said he was going to shoot a turkey tomorrow. Well I'll be damned if he didn't actually do it. His first time out EVER! He now has his brother and me beat by 1 bird...
  4. I work with MANY Canadians, they are very polite, not to be confused with "nice".
  5. I found a weather balloon once that still had the radiosonde attached. I mailed it back to the NWS per instructions on the package.
  6. I would love to say the Henry because I really liked the one I had, but as nice as it was, it constantly jammed. I sent it back, they "fixed" it, but it still jammed when ejecting so it traded it in. I have a Savage MK II .22 is a great plinker, super accurate and very nice looking gun.
  7. Western New York Fish Fry recommendations needed! I have had some great ones in the Buffalo area, but I'm looking for a new place with GREAT sides. Years ago the chef at Root 5 in Hamburg made the absolute best gourmet slaw and pasta salads, which made the entire meal so much better. I can't find anywhere with anything other than the standard Coleslaw and potato salad sides, not that that is bad, but I'm looking for something better. Any suggestions?
  8. Years ago everyone in our office used to win quite often, nothing big, just donuts or a free coffee, but since the buy out a few years ago no one seems to win anything.
  9. Oh, I know! The snowblower is already gassed up for Friday, but being on the lake in Hamburg I am far more concerned with lake effect next week now that the ice is broken up.
  10. I just heard there is a strong possibility of a significant lake effect event in WNY mid next week as well.
  11. Of course you can do it. You will be running only 1/2 inch shorter of a tire. (diameter) that will only effect your speedo by less than 1mph at 60mph, so you will read 60 and really be going 59.1. It will be slightly narrower obviously. We usually run wider and taller tires on our trucks, not sure why you would want to go smaller unless you're getting a good deal on them. One of my sons just put 37's on his 2015 Silverado a few weeks ago, that WILL throw everything off, but it still goes and looks damn good. https://tiresize.com/comparison/
  12. I'm not really sure if this is a true sign of spring or not, but a farmer friend always told me when you start seeing skunks dead on the road the worst is over. I counted 5 on the way to work today.
  13. Oh man can I relate to that story! My wife made me go for a hearing test in October and I of course ended up with hearing aids. They changed my life, I wish I would have done it 10 years ago.
  14. No, unfortunately we did not. We planned on stopping at Hamburg Brewing when we were back home in Hamburg, but decided on a bottle of wine on the couch instead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Elk roulade Dina's in Ellicottville. If you are within an hour its well worth the drive.
  16. I don't know about that. I just replaced the All-Terrain T/A KO2 on my truck after 60K and I could have gotten another 10 easily. They were just getting too loud.
  17. I don't believe that happened in my case. I'm trying to think back, but I honestly think I was simply in a hurry and did not crank it down. I have done some extensive projects with it, both drilling in wood and metal, and driving 3 1/2" screws and that was not a problem. You'll be happy with it I'm sure.
  18. My wife bought me that exact drill at Lowes. It is perfect for every day stuff around the house, I did have a bit drop out a time or two, but just figured I didn't have it cranked down hard enough. Not an issue as far as I am concerned, It's a good drill.
  19. I think you are correct! My bad...
  20. FAKE NEWS! The back end of the red car is cut in half by a guy on a bike that doesn't even veer from his path? The bike wheel doesn't collapse?
  21. I did pretty well with outdoor gifts this year. My Son got me a Yeti cooler and wife got me a Barronette blind, Cabelas blind chair and a Buddy heater. Never hunted from a blind but really wanted to try it. Now I can! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
