  1. Ya....but now I'm kinda gonna have to keep one eye open if I talk you into a hunt somewhere. We could add some good pics to Melvin's missing portfolio.
  2. WAY too much info from those last 2 posts.
  3. Guess this means I got to get a bird bath to add to the pile of corn I have out in the woods...... Think I need to carry it in and out each time? Maybe I'll just get a couple for different areas. Good pics.
  4. How about the merits of a thumbhole stock on a deer gun instead? Personally I would look at a Tikka T3....same barrel as a Sako and thats the part that counts if cost is an issue. Or a friend has a TC Icon thats a tack driver, does well with several bullet weights (yotes and deer), but the Hogue overmolded is a bit heavy for a field gun for my taste. Good luck; looking is part of the fun.
  5. Ha...that Lawdwaz posting pics.......sneeky. Thanks for kind words. Good looking renovations you have done John. Not EVERY homeowner is a boob (like everyone in the trades we all have fixed our share of less than perfect efforts). LOL Have to see some pics too to add any real opinion, but concrete isn't a terrible way to go if you are trying to stay low. I have done some Trex on sleepers with out much issue for mold/algea etc....but that site had a good slope and a Southern exposure that stayed pretty dry. Original slab was in great shape too...... Looking at that fireplace reminds me of this job........hid a flat screen with retracting flipper doors above this one....... Before; After;
  6. I need to hope it can get rid of gray too; more than happy to try several times to get it to happen.
  7. You da' mini-gun or grenade launcher dude? Holy chit Lawdwaz, that pic looks like you're wanting to be the Marlboro man; sheepskin, buckskin gloves......... I don't think I have a single candid pic of just being in the field, most are just with kills one way or the other. High tech camo from the past fall still hunting; Goofing around for the camera; legend has it you rub your balding head on an Elands ruff (the mop of hair on a mature bulls forehead) and you grow it back. I'm still holding out hope.......maybe I need to wack another?
  8. Don't get your finger pinched btween the hub and rods when pushing out to set one up. You'll leak blood all over. Ask me how I know. LOL
  9. I use a length of 3/4" EMT (that's electric conduit thinwall).......locks itself in place with the acorn nut on the hub. Most I have loaded is about a foot of light stuff before I brushed it off.....seems no worse for wear.
  10. I've had a Primos ground max for a few years......outside about 4 months each year and it's held up great. Hub design and 75" tall so plenty of room for a bow without banging the cieling. I'd rather have the continuous style of window like the Double Bull has.....
  11. I hate cutting a lawn; thankfully I live in the woods. More than 15 or 20 minutes with the weedeater once a week....... gets wacked with roundup. I don't even own a lawn mower. LOL
  12. Read post #64...." I have also gotten the same exact answer from multiple FFLs" By asking you seem to care quite a bit. Just sayin'.
  13. Gotcha..... I don't have a TC product but a similar German gun.......I will see if they can comprehend its the same thing at the office here in Dutchess, but a different brand. Thanks for the continued effort to post reliable current information.
  14. How do you plan on registering the pistol configeration IF you started as a rifle?
  15. Sims recoil pad is a good start..... Kickstop type reducer in stock, but adds weight and effects balance, but they work. Check the fit overall......maybe you need to add some comb depending on optics. Too long or short of pull won't help either.
  16. Sorry no porkers....thanks for report.
  17. Watched a State Trooper pop a doe in the head that was crippled up from a car collision yesterday...... But I'm not really sure that counts as hunting.
  18. This post got me all interested in finding a few animals to raise for eatin' again. Piglets are here......may try my hand at a 100 broiler chickens when the weather turns nicer...... Need to find some hay first for a feeder steer. I had a pet Nubian once....but see a few kids for sale on Craigslist; the goat I had was some good eating, maybe time to try a couple of them too. Bon appetit
  19. Please note the request in post #4 above. Good luck on your quest.
  20. +1 on Cameraland..... They often buy up close outs and show demo's that can put you in upgraded optics for a discount price. I only buy optics two places; there and EuroOptics in Pa.....both have outstanding service.
  21. Thanks for report. Looks like you are going to be a buyer.
  22. HA HA HA........if you booked with a good outfitter you will have a smokin' time. And there will be no such thing as "getting done with it".... Yes there maybe other diversions, but it will always be in the back of your mind to get back......It can be that good. Keep us posted how this shoots.
  23. http://dimensionrifle.tcarms.com/wp-content/uploads/TCR_11102B_SPECS-for-Web.pdf Calibers here. Basic concept is each group of calibers requires a bolt for case head demension for in the group and bolt throw length. Two different scope attachments.....one sits just on the receiver and needs re zero work for switch, and a barrel mount that will allow for scope to remain with barrel......but you'll need the mount and a scope for each caliber.
  24. I'm with Cynthia here.....I don't need to see a rubber anything from you Larry. Nice job on the mounts guy's......
