  1. I shoot a switch barrel magazine gun of different manufacturer..... Great for travel. Haven't seen one of these in person, but look interesting for sure. Be interesting to hear someone's thoughts who is shooting not just looking at it.(several vid's on you tube from SHOT show)
  2. Cool....I want to see a pic of the rubber one.
  3. Nice video..... I may have let that kill shot develope more with the other animal behind......but the shooters perspective may have been different. Dropped him like a rock; good stuff.
  4. This filmed on one of your leases? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rs4k4gsy_c
  5. Rifle choice aside...... If you are from Lake Katrine you have access to lots of State land in close proximity. Some can be productive; other areas not so much. It might get discouraging at times especially for a newbie; and this year with a poor acorn crop, even for seasoned vets. There are many local hunting clubs close to you; I would suggest finding one and maybe pick up some help starting out.
  6. Don't sweat it......bunch of folks live to get their panties in a twist. And it's not your age.....I post on another forum thats mostly older white dudes with some coin.......and they beat the hell out of topics too.
  7. The person from Conneticut could use some friends....he's in last place.
  8. Do we split the prize? I could use some clover seed.
  9. Now they know two. Out of JFK at another airlines I watched a guy who wanted to protest his rights checking in......he may still be there in some small windowless room in the bowels of that place. LOL I've always made out just fine at customs too; most have asked how the hunting was. YMMV
  10. His name is Franz Albrecht Oettingen-Spielberg....He's a prince of some sort. I have one of his vids called Wildboar Fever 4 Some of this was filmed in Hungary some in Germany. Here is a two parter you may also enjoy;
  11. I have a short factory 28 ga barrel at 22"....it's fun to carry. You can get a short smooth bore slug barrel for most guns and have the fixed choke change if required or have screw ins added.....maybe the sites taken off if you want. I have sights on the 28 and shoot birds and clays with it too. How about a single shot NEF/H+R in say 20 ga.......they're tiny and light to carry......super inexpensive too! They have a compact 20 thats only 36" long with a 22" barrel.
  12. http://www.auctionsinternational.com/index.htm This company handles many of the municiple auctions in NY; many are just on line now with no required on site expense.
  13. I was just up but just a few days over New Years.....kinda short notice trip since the weather was good. But I have some turning work to do on my dad's equiptment both the metal and wood lathes so i will be back up shortly. Waiting on a MZ barrel that I need to taper and crown....maybe mill in some sights. I owe you so let me know....I've done LOTS of staircase work. More on topic.....Got my hands on some Blackhorn; where has THAT been hiding from me? LOL Good stuff.
  14. Be curious to see his shootin' with out mesh...... I'm bettin' there be another excuse for missin'..... Just sayin'
  15. I have one sitting here thats supposed to be on a Turkey gun; I should get that on and see how it does. I sat with the daughter of Tru Glo's owner on a flight from Dallas to Reno a few years ago for a hunting convention. The same company that grinds glass for several manufacturers does theirs too......She logged a ton of miles for touring facilities and overseeing manufacturer specs. So although they operate at a price point, they were trying to get the most for the money. Funny part: she was cute and I'm a sucker for southern accents, I told her what booth I was at for an outfitter friend of mine. She came by and was looking to go out for dinner, I was at the hunt auction for an hour, and the ding hole I was with didn't tell me til' the next day.......opportunity lost. (But I did buy the trip I wanted at a steep discount; LOL)
  16. HA HA......Lawdwaz got his wee wee wacked.
  17. That's an interesting read......but they should draw a distinction in the airport between handguns and long guns. I have flown out of JFK many times with a rifle and they could care less......just have to wait for Port Authority to come as an extra step compared to other places. But that said I don't know if I would try with a handgun. But with just a NY permit, only Alaska or overseas a few limited places would be a destination....and it could be planned around using a different origin if req'd.

    Cutlets

When I was selling halves and quarters of beef I had many ask why it couldn't be just all cut as steaks. LOL
  19. I think your kidding, there spelling is just fine. LOL.
  20. If you can borrow the pack I would dump the coin into a good sleeping bag.....Feathered Friends or Western Mountaineering. Friend has a spiral Mont-bell he likes....but I can't get used to a tight spiral design, to constricting for me. I have a couple Marmot bags; they can be had at a decent price all the time. One thing to watch is some bags have shorter zips to save weight, but they are not as versitile if temps are warmer than expected. My feet sweat and keeping moisture managment in down bags is important, a closed footbox that I can't vent doesn't work as good for me. YMMV. On the food thing check out "Pack-It Gourmet" site for meals. Typically less sodium in their meals and i don't care for Mountain House meals. I mostly make my own, but use some of the Pack-it stuff. Also Olive Oil is a great calorie boost for meals. Individual 1 oz. packits can be had cheap, 120 calories per ounce, and they taste great dumped into just about any entree. Easy to carry. http://www.packitgourmet.com/Marconi-Organic-Extra-Virgin-Olive-Oil-p11.html
