  1. 30-100 yards tops . No reloading capability so factory loads. Off tomorrow so I guess I'll do some nosing around in some local gun shops. Beats staying at home and working on the honey do list
  2. Any suggestions ? Have shot my nephews 454 Casull before, wasn't completely enjoyable. 44 mag going to be about the same teeth jarring experience? 357 has always seemed to be a popular round by most from what I've heard. Optics? Red dot ? Scope ? I've done a fair amount of pistol shooting and would just like to give this a whirl. No wheel guns in the safe yet either. Thanks in advance for any input.
  3. I can see the obvious problem here......and it wasn't you got nabbed looking at your phone
  4. Also saying not a trap. What about born that way with a birth defect?
  5. Bills will suck worse than those two teams !
  6. Flyers are mostly nocturnal so you wouldn't probably even know . They're around more than most people think.
  7. Great read. Amazing in all those years he never built a fire and slept in a basic tent, Looks like he'll have some time behind bars to write a book on survival
  8. Not sure but don't chase it. Let it follow it's course (time)
  9. I'd only do it if Heidi Klum was my sleeping bag partner. Otherwise I'll pass.
  10. In preparation for this years deer hunting I've packed on 20 pounds of craft beer for insulation. Hope my hunting gear still fits.
  11. Thats funny. 2 years ago on opening morning of shotgun I got a text from a buddy of a screech going ape $hit on him in his stand.
  12. ya but nothing better than having one sneak in on you when least expected. Shot a doe last year with half a sammich in my mouth. Still got a good cheek weld with half an egg salad sammich protruding
  13. I'm going with dumb luck on their part. Maybe just habit to scratch. Not sure about how great a memory they have. How many times have guys gotten busted, alarm putt, waited them out and tipped that same bird over hours later.
  14. 2.5 hrs x each way (2) x 7 days =35 hours on the road at prime time deer crossing the road Rental car with all the insurance you can take out on it outta get you one eventually : ) Kill the lights and you'll get one
  15. I've got an Aimpoint on my Winny 1300. Some military grade thing my nephew gave me. Dang battery lasts for years. Maybe I should replace it this year so it doesn't fail at the worst possible time. Love it.
  16. My buddy shoots primitive bow there. Homemade bow, arrows fletched with turkey wings I give him, carp skinned backing on bow, deer sinew to attach things. Those people take "primitive bowhunting" serious ! Then like you said there's the technology advanced sort too.
  17. http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/23820-whats-your-favorite-squirrel-recipe/
  18. Wonder if the doe wasn't in stomach contents if it would still be record by weight ?!
  19. What's their food source like ? That could be the leading factor. I hunt 70 acres and spend a lot of time in the woods there, barely see grey or red squirrels. Occasional fox squirrel. I completely attribute it to no food.
  20. Propane for the grill is moderately inexpensive
  21. With a nice cianti and fava beans
  22. In HS we used to skip school and grab the fishing poles to do some bass fishing in a nearby quarry. Ride out bikes with a case of Genny Cream Ale pounders. When the beer starting getting warm we'd throw a shot of Jack in it to make boiler makers. Danged if the cops didn't always chase us out. Buddy had two baby pet coons at the time. That always made the escape interesting. Throw one inside you shirt and pedal as fast as you can from the LE all the while that lil coon was digging his nails in your chest with his head sticking out. Oh the good ole days of stupidity.
