  1. I haven't found one I was happy with and I've tried lots of them!, that's why I shoot slick tricks. Huge holes fly very well and I know they will open stay open and not break. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Having tried a bunch of different heads they are the toughest most reliable mechanicals that I have tried by far it's a shame they are illegal in NY if they weren't they would still be in my quiver. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. You put a lot of thought into that example...Now let me think on that.......if you reversed that scenario you would be dragging your dead buck to the truck were you had to in the first place. Then driving to town to make the call...hey doing a beer,soda.... whatever run..then back to camp. jjb That's a good thing on your part...but many of those not reporting are in areas of exceptional signals ...that"s what my post was about. Those that make it a second thought ,that never gets remembered...you know, ones like me with 73acre "fenced back yards" we hunt...Or 68 acre remote camps we own or 70 acre properties we have invites on....lol I have no idea what you are trying to say? Why would I be driving to town in your scenario? My camp is an hr drive down 8 miles down terrible logging roads/ snowmobile trails from an asphalt road. There is no run out for a soda or a beer. 4. Slick tricks leave huge holes entry and exit. The way they are designed they cut way beyond their diameter Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. They can't fold they are on a cam in a track completely different than a rage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Unless I'm misunderstanding the law that broad head is illegal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Where reporting could be improved is just like in Ohio a butcher can't take possession of a deer without the "kill #" attached to the deer. I know everyone doesn't take their deer to a butcher but a lot do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. The amount of energy that a modern compound Xbow puts on a bolt it most likely triple if not quadruple the energy that a recurve or longbow puts on the shaft. I wouldn't even consider shooting a dowel out of an Xbow. I shopped and bought one I didn't have to shoot to discharge just so I didn't have to worry about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I wasn't trying to make a joke or an excuse but for me to get cell signal at my camp I have to drive to town 11 miles. So we will use last year as an example. My buck died 3.2 miles from the nearest road and 3.5 miles from my truck. So I would have had to walk 3.5 miles to my truck drive to town call drive back hike another 3 miles back to my deer and start dragging. That is the joke if you think anyone would do that. Not everyone hunts in their fenced in back yards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. No, but the blades slide in on a cam and don't fold over. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I don't know about you but I would have a long walk until I get signal enough to call. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I shot Tekans for years when I lived in NC. They are the best mechanical broad heads made in my opinion. To my knowledge no G5 mechanicals are legal in NY because the blades are barbed when deployed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. My daughter started with a scatter gun at 5 a mossberg bantam pump 20ga I hand loaded for it at first with some real light loads. So handled it fine. Now she has a 410 but doesn't really like it. In my opinion the most important thing for a kid to do is have fun and shoot ALOT! Unless you're reloading the 28 is not even an option for that. The 28ga in my opinion is no different than a 16ga or a 280 not a bad but does nothing another more popular round does just as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

When will NY get their sh!t together? Who are the monkeys they have producing this crap! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. This is great advice but I would highly recomend using 1 arrow or multiple aiming points 10yd groups get expensive! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Made by a Chinese company called Man Kung "an archery company that has been in business a long time" they are produced in Taiwan, marketed by crossman. They have gotten some rave reviews I shot one and was surprised not that loud, terrible trigger and an awful scope but for 285-300$ real price it is impressive. My biggest concern would be warranty work and because it is a twice rebranded bow there is a concern. I would contact crossman and or center point in regards to parts and warrantee before I spend my cash on it. Lots of talk about them on archery talk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I love slick tricks I have shot them for years, never shot a viper but I'm sure they have the quality of the others. I don't know what you consider a well tuned bow but I can tell you that I have not found a broad head my bow won't shoot well. The best advice I can give is Find a broad head you have confidence in and make your bow shoot them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Remington 7600 in 35 whelen or 7600p in 358 win are #1's, tikka T3 35 whelen would be 2nd new to the collection is a new cva in 35 whelen that is at the shop getting a chop job as I type. All wear leupolds and are all or will soon be carbines. I almost always have my glock 20 or 21 on my side while gun hunting 10mm/400corbon both would be bad medicine for a deer or bear as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Ya...the drought took that out...all of it ...the grain sorghum is still just a foot tall the field corn is a bit over 2 ft tall and I planted a tad earlier than I normally plant..which is always a bit late...feel like I wasted $$$ in fertilizer...corn was cheap...and It's costing me more work in that I have to do a weed spraying and disc to replant... We have had just enough rain and my corn looks awesome! My sweet corn was the earliest I have ever had. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I've got very few acorns no apples and just a few beech nuts. All of this makes my corn look better and better Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. If I'm still hunting it's cocked with a bolt and carried on a 1 point sling. If I'm walking in or out in the dark I either don't cock until I get to stand or I decock it before I start walking out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Big net! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. It doesn't matter because I don't have a dog in the fight but I am failing to see that logic. If it's a 50/50 ownership he has just as much right to do what he wants that you do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I don't know the whole agreement but to me it seems 1 sided that it's ok for you to let someone hunt the land but it's not ok for your cousin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. All my bows are hanging on hooks in my reloading room in the basement. They are hanging from the ceiling and take up a lot of room but the walls are covered with antlers and mounts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
