  1. Anyone who isn't a "self admitting law breaker" is a know and self admitting liar!
  2. I hope there are plenty of beverages to wash down the foot tasting that many "know it alls" got today.
  3. Hard to beat the Winchester xp3 the most accurate sabot out of my 870.
  4. I had a hen turkey fly into me while in a tree stand she hit me pretty hard almost knocked me out of the tree and she fell to the ground shaking her head and stumbling for a few minutes until flying up in a tree.
  5. This makes me so happy that I never have to shoot a slug gun again! Now that I can use a rifle in NY and Ohio. I love to shoot and I shoot a lot but shooting a slug gun SUCKS even my Benelli is not enjoyable.
  6. I have shot deer that came out my my saw in my hand. I think they notice your scent a lot more and a branch or two missing
  7. It depends on what the blood I find looks like. I will wait half an he before looking at the arrow and first blood but I live by the old saying "when I doubt back out" dead deer don't travel so I have no problem waiting 4-6 hrs or the next morning.
  8. Wind is perfect for my favorite rut stand I've been riding the wind since 10:30 have seen 2 small bucks so I guess it's been worth it.
  9. If I was in the market for an "entry" rifle it would be the ruger american or a CVA hunter. The cva hunter being my first choice. The finish on the remingtons are aweful and will rust from the humidity in your house let alone hunting with it in rain and snow. The bushnell banner scopes are basically junk. You can get away with a junk scope with see through mounts and iron sights but the lack of sights on all these rifles make that impossible. Trust me from experience nothing ruins a season like having the buck you want In front of you and not be able to see it through your scope. If budget is your ultimate factor than you just get what you can afford but sometimes spending an extra hundred can save you hundreds.
  10. I have mentioned this in another thread but the best thing is to practice. In the Marine Corps we called them stress drills, go for a run or do any kind of physical exercise to get your heart racing then shoot a couple arrows. How I do it is I hang my bow on my porch go for a run as soon as I get back I shoot 2 arrows. This teaches you how to control your body to make the shot.
  11. These are interesting but seem to be a little too much for me. As I said earlier in the post I ditched a peep nearly 10 years ago and will NEVER go back to one. At hunting ranges I do not feel handicapped at all. I hunt Ohio and NC where I can legally shoot 30 min prior and after sunrise and sunset so I have no issues with not being able to see my sight or my target in low light.
  12. I have the 11lb Xstand climber. And if I am "banging in to hunt" I still use my ultralight hang on. Mine are no longer made, thank god I have 3 they weigh around 7lbs so with my stand and 5 steps I can be 18ft up in minutes and basically silent and I can do it in almost and tree.
  13. That is the only caliber in a 99 I don't own if you ever want to get rid of it please let me know.
  14. There are very few areas in nz that dmps are issued.
  15. Just ditch the peep all together! I did it 10 years ago and haven't looked back. I solid anchor is all you need.
  16. If your only shooting 30 yds an hha would be a huge waste. I think trophy ridge makes a fixed verticle pin sight
  17. I shoot a single pin hha and love it.i think a single verticle pin is the cleanest sight picture you can get.
  18. X-STAND last I knew around 7lbs don't know of anything lighter.
  19. I've never dropped my bow but I did fall out of a tree and land on my bow and broke all 3 arrows so that was a short hunt.
