Ok so now Culver has inspired me to get a grinder. Main deal is for making sausage. I may do 50 to 150 pounds a year so not a ton. I want something that will last but reasonable priced. Researching online is giving me a head ache!! Any input from some of you guys who have/use one?

OMG! Bus Monitor Abuse in Greece NY (video)
Fletch replied to Cabin Fever's topic in General Chit Chat
Pretty digusting in my opinion and most certainly reflects on their upbringing. Yes the old lady should have had a camera supplied by the school to document their behavior and warned them of that. The school should ban those kids from riding the public school buses for the rest of their years and the parents that should of taught them better can drive them back and forth to school for the rest of their careers. It is also quite upsetting that not one kid on the bus has the sack to stop this or report it. Or maybe it was reported and not acted upon. With kids like these you wonder why we are no longer the bright country we once were. Not really. -
Finished this a week ago. The frame is pallet racking I got free from work. Railings and roof pressure treated lumber. Topped and skirted with roof rubber also scooped up from leftovers. Already has a couple lawn chairs in it. My son will be lovin going to this with me!! And yes it is very sturdy!! Only a short 5 minute walk from the house.

I use a propane one and just installed a regulator from the hose to maintain a very fine adjustment to keep the heat where I want it. Propane is just easier for me and more portable than electric and not the hassle of charcoal.

Man that is a beast!! I am in the market for one but that might just be overkill!! I would do probably 50 to 150 pounds a year through it. Any input on the #12 or other makes models?

When I think of mountaim men I do not exactly dream up the characters in the show. I mean the cult leader in NC with 8 Stihl chainsaws and a half dozen paying laborers! The old couple seem to be the closest but have gas and truck and very close neighbors. Then the crazy coot with the plane. Without a camera crew doing what he does has got to be the most dangerous and I can not see how trapping would even pay for his fuel and supplies. I think of mountain man as off the grid and pretty much away from it all or at least a day or two travel to civilization. I'll give it a couple more shows but after the not sighting in your own hunting rifle by the cultist I do not have much hope.

http://www.petfooddirect.com/product/2730/Ticked-Off-Tick-Remover-Tool-for-Pets?utm_source=pricegrabber&utm_medium=cse I bought a couple of these and they work great. Tick Off tick removal tool. After paying the vet $75.00 to pull one off a few years ago. It was the first time I ever saw a tick. They used it and I said heck with paying. I have used it to pull quite a few out people and pets and it is cake. I would worry that the soap might make them spit up in you making it more likely to transmit disease, but I am no scientist. I also would not recommend pinching or using tweezers because you do the same thing and squeeze and they spit into you. Nasty worthless things...ticks.

Brings back great memories. As a kid we used bb gun, fishing poles, spears, 22 and hands. We used to cut off the legs, skin em and give them to Gram. She would bread and fry them. Man good stuff!! I might just have to take my son out for some!!

I have hunted in the central and northern part of the state for close to 30 years and did not see a tick for the first 20. The past 5 years or so they have been getting worse each year. I used to not even see them on the deer. The buck I got last year in bow had 40 or 50 on it just that I saw. I have also pulled a couple out of the dog and one out of me in the past two years and catch a few crawlin on me. I took the advise of a friend and got the Sawyers. My son and I were out for 4 hours reposting my property Sunday and did not have one crawling on us. They are nasty little buggers and it is suprising how many people actually have Lyme, I have run into quite a few.

If you want to check out their magazine I can save you a copy or two. You live fairly close to me or I could send you.

I joined as a life member close to 20 years ago. I got a real nice leather jacket and a cool little pocket knife. I still have both. For what I paid back then it is already paid off and I will get the rest of my life of their magazine. I have tested numerous products. Scents, glow tacks, tarp, a coyote caller and a couple other things and I did get a muzzleloader to test one year. I got nothin but good things to say about my experience with them. The field tests can be years in between so do not join for that alone it is just a perk. I was reguarily on their forum but a year or two ago they did something to it and it got so slow I could not deal with it. In the beginning I got sent a few things on a test basis, coins books.... A couple calls and returned items later and they stopped that.

The heart is one of the most fought over part of the deer in my family! I do not do liver but I used to take it from young deer for my inlaws and they liked it.

Dick's Sporting Goods clearance sale

Syracuse area stores peen picked over for a while. -
I would agree with this. He backs up his talk with real stats and facts and takes no shit from some of the idiot interviewers and anti gun crowd. I have not researched the mans entire history or researched every word he has said. From what I have heard, seen and heard from others I have not heard or feel he is racist or a bad guy. Does he think most politicians are idiots yes so do I. Does he have an issue with the mass illegal immigrant problem yes so do I Does he heartily believe in the right to bear arms yes and so do I. And he suffers no fools and neither do I. He can really jam the guitar, though I am not a fan of his music that much. He does more for gun rights than most and I am pretty sure he still finacially supports hunting outings for disatvantaged Detroit youths and handicapped hunters.

I trim all the silverskin off as well as fat. Once you do that and taste your next venison you will never not do it again.
