T/C contender 7-30 waters
philoshop replied to Gencountyzeek's topic in Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
I wish I had the dough for it my friend. A great price for a very clean looking Contender! Mine has always been a utility sidearm and has all the scuffs and dings that come with that role. It would be nice to have a pristine one again before they fade entirely into history. Best of luck to you. -
I thought this was a good story, and I wish this young man and his family all the best that America has to offer: http://www.breitbart.com/sports/2016/11/18/bills-lineman-becomes-citizen-cant-kneel-anthem/

I've been known to read novels or write stuff in a notebook to pass the time. Mostly I just absorbed myself in all the smells, sights and sounds of the outdoors. Being an apex predator requires some work.

Very few knowledgeable and up-to-date politics followers were actually surprised with the election outcome. Celebratory for sure, but surprised, not at all. Nor are we surprised by the violence of backlash being exhibited by the poor losers of the event. Not gloating, just stating facts that are hard for many to hear.

Montana has done it ............

The NYT is the fastest failing, and the fastest backtracking print media publication in the world today. They won't likely be in existence a year from now, and it's their own fault. Carlos Slim screwed it up. I research and write political commentary for a living, so avoiding Leftist thought is not an option for me. Avoiding Leftist nonsense frees my time to pursue valid arguments, and from experience I've found that vetting the NYT is best left to people with less hectic schedules. It's the only news source I completely ignore. The NYT rarely gets anything right any more and when they get it wrong it's usually so ridiculously wrong that a Junior High School student with an internet connection will point it out before I even bother to think about it.

Trump started changing the course of this nation when he threw his hat in the ring last June. I woke up to it during the first primary debate in August and I've been with him ever since. In short, Trump just pi**es off all the right people, ie, the one's who need to be thwarted in their grand globalist schemes. MAGA!

After their atrocious behavior over the last 18 months I refuse to give the NYT even a single click. So I have no comment on whatever lies or irrelevant BS they may have printed. FWIW I have to stay current with left-leaning media outlets, both print and broadcast, and I do, but the NYT has gone too far and I wish them only a quick death as a 'news' source in this country. Find the same information in a real news source and I'll read it.

It's nice that she's showing some interest in it. At least until you start losing coin-flips and getting stuck with babysitting duty on opening day. Best of luck to both of you!

Something to do at Starbucks
philoshop replied to fasteddie's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I've never been in a starbucks, but this sounds like it could be fun. Maybe go in with a dozen friends and get in line one after the other so it becomes a chant. ;-] -
Trump / Obama
philoshop replied to Water Rat's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I've seen the Netflix show, but I'm at a loss regarding the relationship to the presidents??? -
I'm not really sure why I'm being quoted here, but I'll give it a stab. "Her behavior" in this quote is entirely about the fact that she couldn't even be bothered to address her supporters who stood there for ten or twelve hours in the Javits Center waiting to hear from her. It doesn't really matter why she stood those people up and left them hanging, it was an extremely boorish gesture that I don't think we've ever seen from any other US presidential candidate in history. It speaks volumes about her lack of integrity.

Trump / Obama

Do you have a point with this? -
Not sure if this was posted

Her behavior was an absolute slap in the face to her supporters, and to our system and traditions of government. She has no moral center. Our country dodged a huge bullet last Tuesday. -
I've always assumed from the start that every deer I've shot at has been mortally hit. From that point on I follow it or look for it until the animal is either recovered or I just flat run out of places to look. I simply have too much confidence in my shooting abilities, otherwise I probably wouldn't be out there to begin with. It sucks to lose one, but I've never tried to assuage my guilt by thinking that I might have 'just wounded' the animal.

120-something protestors arrested in Portland recently, and fewer than 40 were even registered to vote. That's not how you make change happen in a Republic with Democratic conventions and systems. These people don't even know why they're angry, they just want to destroy things they don't understand. Clinton, Obama, and the DNC built this monster, and they own every bit of it. The time to pay up is coming.

In the ether of this new wave of 'hate crimes' I could easily consider myself a victim, being 'attacked' every time Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama says something about my white American heritage. Be careful about how you define victims and perpetrators, and don't think for one second that it's a lesser offense when a liberal attacks a conservative, like what is happening across the country right now. Selective indignation is something Democrats have raised to an art form, and it's an ugly little bug that needs to be squashed before it takes our entire country down to it's level.

Time for Canadians to build a wall
philoshop replied to Doc's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Excellent! Thank you! -
I find it quite disheartening that any American would care what CAIR and the SPLC would have to say about US governmental issues. They're both subversive groups that could easily be classified as terrorist fronts. That's why they don't like Trump. As far as my own neighborhood, there isn't a mouthy progressive liberal within two miles of me. I like it that way.

Since everything you lose is always found in the last place you look for it, the trick is to look in the last place first. Just some hermit wisdom from Uncle Philo.

Veteran's were not given proper respect yesterday.
philoshop replied to Rattler's topic in General Chit Chat
Well, I'd like to personally thank you all for your service and your personal sacrifice. It means a lot to us, even if some of us are too stupid to realize it. I make about a dozen phone calls every year on Veteran's Day to good friends I've made over the years. Mostly Vietnam vets because that's closest to my age group, and it's just saying hi and touching base because we don't see each other much any more, but I always end with a heartfelt thank you. They appreciate the sentiment that comes without any fanfare, from a friend.
