Not much of a problem with that around here.If in season they are shot when seen. A few guys who try to hunt them but they are not seen very often.

Not to start anything but it use to be if a dog was seen chasing deer it was shot. It was condoned by all. If you saw it happen and reported it the first question asked was why didn't you shoot it. People who did not own guns were told by eons to call such and such they will take care of it. Use to be a big problem around here. Heck We shot one of our own dogs for chasing deer. Many other dog owners were known for doing samething.Haven't seen or heard of it happening in years though. Long time since I've even seen a dog in the woods. Use to be peopl r email didn't want to be known for opening a dog that chased deer. We're they upset when there pet was shot chasing deer? Yep but it considered something that needed to be done. People use to joke about it. When asked if you saw any deer chasing dogs you would respond with never but did kill a couple dogs chasing deer. Not saying that people didn't care about there pets. Because they did. Dogs were ( trained) for a lack of a better term, to not chase deer. If one did then it was considered bad dog and a nuisance and needed putting down. A dog chasing a deer was considered to be harassing wildlife.

2 in mag 1 in the pipe. Use to carry 5 in the gun and 5 in pocket. Never used more then 4 all season and always seemed to lose one from pocket so stopped that. I always have extras in truck so if I shoot I can replace what I have used. I never plan on missing IF I do I have two for back. I think when some guys carry lots of rounds they end up giving themselves permission to light up the wood. Why aim when they have plenty as back up.

The only thing I do differently is take the hicks off when deer is skin which is while still warm. Hide ,legs from meat down, and Bellingham sides are removed at this time. I let hang for at least 3 days before cutting unless temps are warm. Cut my steaks out of the good stuff and make sausage out of the rest. Hate a roast of any kind.

I would and have shot the doe. I shoot the first 1 1/2 or 2 1/2 . That I see. Only time I will take older bigger bucks is at the end to keep from having a unfilled. And when that happens the deer is given away HORNS and all unless my dad wants to make knife handles with them. I pay for the tag and I will not waste money. Only time a tag is left unused is if only see fawns. You must have special bucks If they do not taste smell and look different. You can tell even before they are cut up. have you never noticed the smell when it was hanging. If not then I would think you have never shot one more then 2 years old. As for beef they would never be able to sell it after 2 years of age.

I've been doing my own cutting sence I started and there is nothing wrong with the way I do it. If I was doing it wrong the younger deer would be tiff as well. I have never met anyone who wasn't a horn hunter who liked the meat from an older. You can see it in the color and smell it way before the deer is even cut up. And don't say it is being cooked wrong . If you need to use more then salt and pepper when cooking meat then the meat sucks. How old do you think the beef is that you buy. Do you think it it 4 or 5 years old when butchered? If it where you wouldn't buy it. Funny how when at does not work there is a reason other then it doesn't work. No natural forage, land can not sustain it, bad genetics. At does nothing for the herd. Every time people say it is working and they love it. They point out that they are seeing more and bigger decorations for there wall. Ar is all about bigger antlers. That is for the hunter not the herd. Heard health is not about bigger antlers nor is it about killing only older deer.

Live off the meat? You can't chew let alone stand the taste of a buck more then 2 1/2 years old. Funny I know many people in PA. Some family. Never heard a good thing from any hunter about PA. hunting Spence ar were put in place. Some I know stopped hunting some started making the trip to NY. Why pay for a tag when I can not use. With ar there is a good chance your tag won't get filled. I will not pay for something I can not use. Is it that much money? no but if I am gonna pay for something I can't use I might as well just through money in the woodstove.AR is not about heard anything. Liner socks or nylons under wool socks for feet. Look up military fleece for pants and shirt. Makes warm under layer and wicks moisture away.

That is why I never offer services. Always a contract lease always locked in price for no less then 10 years. I am only one paying the lease and the only one with control of it. Everyone else hunts because I let them. Just renewed lease this year. Another 10 years.

Then how do you explain being able to see more deer years ago then now? How about the fact that good bucks were common back then? Like I said back then good bucks were seen and shot every day. They never ended up being the talk of the hunting town. Hunters didn't get giddy as a school girl about seeing a good buck like they do today.Why ? There were a lot of them. Never heard a hunter say they didn't see any deer on an outing either. How many posts have there been on this site alone from hunters saying they saw nothing? Back then we shot what ever never passing buck or doe to wait for a bigger one. Any passing on a shot was do to us deciding we didn't feel like dragging that day and we new we could get them when we did feel it. Up until the mind set of trophy hunting we shot what ever when ever. Never having a problem of getting good bucks and doe every day and year.

that's another thing 20 years ago I never went in the woods without seeing 10 or 15 deer. That's every day. Now I can set and not see anything for days.When hunters were shooting anything we saw lots of deer. Over the years more hunters are focused on the decoration then the meet and less deer are there to be seen. High grading kills any species.

If you shoot all the big bucks all you have left is little. Probably 20 years ago seeing big bucks was not a big deal. They were almost common. People saw big bucks out feeding or one was killed and it didn't become the talk of the hunting town. It was known of but not a big deal. Now when a big buck is seen or shot that is all you hear about and the guy who shot it was almost a hero. Back then people didn't care as much about the decoration for there wall the we're meat hunters. Anything got killed. Killing small bucks then didn't hurt the population nor the sightings or killings of big bucks. Once so many people started hunting for big bucks only the number of big bucks being seen and shot went way down. A few years of that and now it a big deal to see or get nice bucks. That's because they all got killed and each year what is considered big gets smaller. Kill all the big 10 points next year you have all 8 points kill all them the next year's bucks are smaller. Funny how let them grow is what is said is needed to get big bucks for todays hunters,yet there are fewer the 20 years ago when anything was killed. We can all say there are tons of small ones out there and fewer big ons. More hunters t as king out little ones again might change that. Not all the little ones will be killed nor all the big ones. Leavening big ones for next year and letting little one get bigger for next year. No balance in shooting only big bucks.

Love the 243. I had a Remington 700 took a lot a deer and a bear with it. Sold it because the internal mag was a pita always had problems with it.

Had rotator cuff surgery on shoulder a few years ago. That shoulder is shot now. No pun intended. I have a 30 06 kills me. My 308 does not bother at all. though sounds like yours is a bit worse if it istill throwing you off that much. If mine get to that point I will be shoot a 25 06. Might want to try that.

Everything in first pic is darker then the other two. I think that twig hanging down set it off and it is the wind movement plus the darkness making brush look funny. In pic number 3 you can see almost the same thing only fainter. Just what my eyes see. I don't know what other pics with the same lighting look like.

I do not wear gloves for hunting however I keep a pair of kinko insulated work gloves around for when I do need a pair. They are made of pig skin. Very warm soft and flexible. The gloves can get soaking wet but hands stay warn and dry.

Nothing. Opening day went out in tee shirt and jeans. That's not hunting to me. High wind and snow Sunday and Monday about 4 inches. Now this is more like it. Still no deer and few tracks. Only 5 sets of tracks seen. Haven't gotten anything on cams for 2 weeks ,talk about disappearing. I have only heard 7 shots in the first 4 days. All but one were in the distance. Out of all the guys I have talked to (local) only has seen deer. Not a good start to the season around me.

Bought a pair of mucks once. Never again. I felt every twig I walked on and first patch of brush I walked through left them shredded . For the price I would think they would have better soles and last more then one outing.

How is he part of the lease? Did he have to put up money to be on the lease? Is there a rule that he has to let you know he uses your stand? U said the rule was if owner is not in it then anyone can use it nothing about letting the owner know. Is there a rule that one has to put out trail cams or do any work? You said you were pissed that he was using your stand ad that you thought he saw a big one there when you hadn't seen anything. Yet the rule you stated says he can use it when you are not in it. Is there a rule that there has to be a certain amount of did since between hunters? knowing the rule about stand use why put a stand 75 yards from another one knowing someone else can use it? By the way 75 yards is far enough that you could each different deer passing. You are pissed that he fallowed the rule and only use stand when you are not there. Now he wants to use another stand that you will not be in , still within the rule yet you are mad at him. Just Sounds like fear that someone else will get something you want. Sry . Your rule is if the owner of a stand is notuseing it the anyone can right? He is not braking the rules so what is the problem? You stated that you think he saw a big one and that is why he is going there. Sounds like you are worried he might get a nice buck in what you feel is your spot. Also upset because you think he might have seen a big one when you saw nothing. Just how your post reads to me.

So what you are saying is you do not have to move a gun or crossbow to point it at right spot on the animal or get it to your shoulder? just make sure it is pointed at deer. Guess I have been doing it wrong all these years cause I have never gotten a deer to just walk right in front of my gut so I don't have to move it.And I always have to shoulder and aim it at the kill zone. You are also saying you do not want crossbow guys to kill a big buck instead of you. At least that is what you are saying by giving support if antler restrictions are placed on them.

I bought a reader from radio shack. it works with my all my tablets and my phone. All have Android. I did have to buy an adapter cord for it, it about 3 inches. Goes from large USB to mini for phone and my smaller tablet. Cost was $11 for both. works great. they also sell ones for X2 cards. make sure you read to make sure it takes sd. Also do not buy the one they have for sd , xd, and mini sd. It will not work with phone.

Did anyone say anything about beating up those who voted for your Queen? Not that I saw. These are no longer just street protests. They are violent attacks from people who didn't get there way. People like you will never see the difference until you are on the wrong of one these street protests. You won't be though because our side,if there are sides, has not gotten violent in any protests.
