One thing airdale is NOT, is a troll! He has added much to this forum, and I've learned a bunch from him! He is entitled to his opinion, that this crap has gone on long enough. I myself have contributed to the s---storm that was stormy. And I'm glad he's gone. But ganging up on a good member because he has a different opinion from the majority, is s--- too! And serves no purpose. Off season came fast this year. We gotta get outside and do something! And I'm in no way slamming you FSW. As my opinion is, you add much to this forum too. Especially lately!!! And all this is just MY opinion. No one needs to agree with it. As my pot and kettle are just as black as everyone else's.

Applied to become a DEC Hunter Safety Instructor
grampy replied to Otto's topic in General Chit Chat
We may have, as that is the downstate chapter. I've been down there at that hunt club a few times, for various things. I'm sure at some time we WILL meet up though! -
Welcome!! And we hope to learn from you as well!

Applied to become a DEC Hunter Safety Instructor
grampy replied to Otto's topic in General Chit Chat
Yes, I am a current NYS Hunter Ed Instructor. I started to think about becoming an instructor when I sat through the firearms, and then the bow course with my grandson, at a local sportsmans club. I thought the way it was presented, and the instructors there were very good! And I encourage all the long time hunters to bring a young hunter, and sit through the course! I know I learned a couple things, when I did it!! I was asked by the club, to come in and do a Deersearch presentation, which I was happy to do. As I've been a long time member, and tracker/handler. Afterwards, was approached by a couple of the hunter ed instructors, who said they thought I would be a good fit to help, as there are never enough instructors. So I said sign me up! The first step is to become an apprentice. There is a VERY long list of things to do, to be certified, and it took me about a year to complete the apprenticeship. If you go to NYSDEC, and type becoming a hunting instructor, that will get you started. Much easier to do it through a hunt club or an organization. You will need to have an FBI background check. A visit from, and an interview done by a DEC officer. As well as an online course. And a day long course done at a DEC HQ. Along with the many hours during the apprenticeship, of learning, observing and teaching, every part of the course curriculum, to actual classes of students. All while being mentored by a Senior Instructor. There is always a need for more instructors!! Especially younger ones!! As most all of us are older. It really is one of the most rewarding things I've done, to try and "give back". To something that has given me so much in my lifetime. And well worth the effort of becoming an instructor. I wish you good luck! And if there is anything I can do to help you, just PM me anytime! -
Just wrap it up Eddie. Nothing more to see here.

Makes me so proud our daughter made a difference

Proud, you and Mrs TF should be! Look's like you guys have got the parenting thing down pretty good! She is a beautiful kid inside and out. And the apple didn't fall far from the tree. So good to see kids growing up right. Way to go Samantha! -
I have the one piece version in 7'. It is a very nice combo for general purpose fishing. I use this for fishing soft plastics like Senco's and swim baits.

I got a creepy PM from him too. Asking if I knew of any rattlesnake dens. And that he had lots of venomous snake stories from when he lived in Brazil. For this whacked out individual, to insinuate he had a prosthetic arm to you, shows just how totally off the wall this person/troll is. Along with all the different names he had. Talking about himself in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th tense.....that he thought no one else would be smart enough to catch on to. I say eff em too. Glad he's gone!

Happy Birthday!!! Soak in all the good stuff coming your way today!

Finally! A HNY WNY hunter is getting some recognition!
grampy replied to goosifer's topic in Deer Hunting
Way to go Andrew, with the well deserved recognition! You really are a great sportsman! I'd love to hunt or fish with you sometime. And Tacks is welcome to come here to take my "outdoor" pic's anytime! What a great team you guys made! -
I like the looks of these too! And obviously they work well! I shoot only 50lbs on my compound set up. Wonder if these heads will work for me with the lower poundage? We are thinking of putting in about a dozen acres of corn this year, and letting it stand through the hunting season. Also would like to put in a couple permanent box blinds. And upgrade to a more sturdy hub blind, like the Redneck or something similar. A step up from the the Ameristeps we've been using the last couple years, that don't hold up in the snow very well. As I get older, I find these types of blinds much more comfortable to hunt from, when the weather is less than ideal. And placed in the right spot, very productive as well.

whats involved in leasing land? and how much $$
grampy replied to maplehillfrm's topic in Land For Sale, Lease, and Requests
You being the landowner, would be the one to set the terms, limits and rules. The more the leasee can do, and have access to on the property, the more valuable the lease would be to them paying the money. It does look like a great property! And I'd think you would have little trouble finding a person or group to lease it. Just make sure everything is spelled out exactly how you want the land used, and not abused. A legal document is a must here. And protects both parties. Good luck. -
I new he'd come back.
