  1. I have a pinned mag. I also have speed loaders that feed from the ejection port. Works for me. To unload any rounds not fired, just pull the charge handle until empty. Or pop the back pin on the lower. If I should go to a state where they don't have ridiculous safe act laws, I'd just order a different lower.
  2. I don't think I could even ROLL a 385lb atlas stone, much less pick one up and carry it!!! Hope the move goes easier now buddy!!
  3. Lots of pellets on target at 50 yards! After you tag out, can I take this girl out on a date???
  4. I'm with ya on that!!! Paul, those gobblers roaming the ridges out there, should start getting their affairs in order!
  5. I remember gapping the points with a feeler gauge.......
  6. I have Texas Tech, Baylor, Arizona, Kansas in final four. Baylor and Arizona play for the championship. Arizona wins. Already took major hits to my bracket at the office. So low confidence in my picks.
  7. I used to be able to walk out my back door and hunt. Not anymore. But the farm, and lake property is only about 20 min. away. Will still make the trip as always, and as often. But fuel prices for field work, will probably put a little hitch in our giddy up. Along with fertilizer and seed prices.
  8. No matter what my watch says, during deer season I've always gone by deer time. They have no watches.
  9. Never done it. But it does sound like fun!
  10. If a deer "hears" something........it will "look" to see what it is.
  11. A can of flat black spray paint would have that box you have, fit in with the rest of the street, no?
  12. Sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference. Nice job!
  13. Best wishes for a Happy Birthday Sir!!!!
  14. I think the versatility, accessibility, and cost of the 223 is greater than the 300blk. There is a good variety of bullet choices in 223 for doing all of what you mentioned above Rob. I have the Omni Hybrid in 223-556, and for a low cost AR, I'm pretty satisfied with it. Let us know how it all goes for you this weekend.
  15. Way to think outside the box! Give it a go! Show us how it turns out. Best of luck to ya during the season.
  16. Not sure what heads will fly best out of this one? Will start with the 100g Slick Trick mechanical heads I'm using from my other crossbow. I have a few others here I can try too. Manual says not to use a fixed head, as the speed and power may cause them to plain? As far as bolts, I have a bunch of Piledrivers here I can try. There were some bolts that came with it, but most need refletching. Also need to pick up some Q nocks, for the Scorpyd, as that is what they shoot. I'm sure my guy Vic at Brown's Archery will fix me up. Will replace the string and cable too. Everything I'm reading about these is really good! Got lots of stuff with it, including a case, sling, quiver, lubes, owners manual, bolts, couple extra nocks, and other assorted goodies!!! I'm very thankful to Billdogge. He really set me up nice!

The "educated thumb" ! This is what I do too, especially whenever changing lures.
  18. A huge Thank You to Billdogge for gifting me the Scorpyd 165 crossbow he had for sale here! Thanks to Chef for not buying it!! I now have two crossbows once owned by Bill. Bill is a great guy and friend, that I don't see often enough. We will definitely get a hunt together this fall. The quality of people I've met from this forum, is absolutely amazing. Due to my bad shoulders, not looking too good at this time, for shooting my bow this fall. Though today, I did barely get a shot off in my basement range! My hope is the bill supporting 55 and older full inclusion will pass this year? If it does, this is what I will carry into the deer woods in October. I can't imagine sitting out bow season, if I'm still breathing. I really like the balance of this crossbow! Can't wait to shoot it! I now have three crossbows. I will complete the circle Bill started. And pass along his kindness and generosity, by giving my Barnett Raptor to my Goddaughter. Hopefully she will tag out with her compound bow first though? Thanks again Bill.

Power fishing = bait caster... Jigs, top water, spinnerbait, larger crankbaits, Texas/Carolina rig. Finesse fishing = spinning... Worms, grubs, craws, smaller crankbaits, drop shot.
  20. ^^^^^THIS^^^^^ Leopold and Vortex have some great options in 4X.
  21. BareArms used to be on Rt 7 just before the Stewart's going west. They moved last year to a larger building on Rt 20 just past the overbridge on the right in Duanesburg. I didn't know TakeItToTheBank reopened in another location?? Where is it now? I bought my AR there. Got a great deal, back just before Covid. I know the owner, Mr D' Gallo sadly passed away last year. I loved going in there!! Was really bummed to see it close at 5 corners. I live in Rotterdam, we are almost neighbors! Gotta meet up sometime!
  22. I have a deer and a bass sticker on the back window of my truck. Along with a small Bass Pro sticker. Guess that says I like hunting and fishing, and where I shop sometimes? In these times, I wouldn't put a political sticker on my old truck. Surely someone would key some rust off the old girl.....lol
  23. Who in their right mind would try to spray a building in 25mph wind??? Hopefully you will get this all made right Larry.
  24. Very Nice!! As airdale stated you are good to go now. Very precise and consistent. Let us know how you do at the range! So much fun testing different recipes. Great to see you coming along so well Carlos.
