  1. I do too! He even set it up for me! I got one from you too!!
  2. That looks so good!!! I've now seen and tasted your cooking talents!!! Looking forward to the next meet up!
  3. Happy Fourth of July!!! I salute all the Patriots, past and present, who fought so that we could still have an Independence Day.
  4. Hard pass for me. Used to have decent bucks come out with does, sometimes in the meadow behind the house. Was tempted a time or two. But never could do it. Killing a deer isn't everything to me.
  5. 7mm-08 is just about the perfect deer caliber.
  6. Your advice was solid Larry. They did right by asking someone with your experience. Whatever he ends up buying, the best thing he can do as a newer hunter, is to shoot that gun, then shoot it some more! Learn it intimately. Take it down, and clean it thoroughly. Know when the trigger breaks. Find that sweet spot on the stock for your cheek. If a scope is used find the eye relief. Shoot various distances. Rested and freehand. Build confidence in that firearm. Know, you'll hit where you aim. Safety above all else! Having mentored a few new hunters. This is the advice I give after they have their first firearm.
  7. Back when bow opened October 15th, I killed some bucks on opening day. Since they changed it to the 1st, I haven't seen a decent buck to shoot on our properties that early. Last couple years, early season, I've just caught up on my to do list. And if I do hunt, it's in an observation stand, to just see what's moving and where. I don't like to use my good set ups until I know the bigger bucks are up and on their feet moving. That for us, isn't until towards the end of October. Doing all I can, to be able to pull my bow at 50lbs right now. I may not be able to hunt till crossbow this year? But as they say, if there is a will, there is a way! One more bow buck would be so sweet!
  8. Not many Booners fall to hunters in NYS. It takes a special buck to make it. And a special taxidermist to do him justice. Justice was served.
  9. Congratulations to you and your beautiful bride Eddie!
  10. LOL....... No gator, and no piss either. But got a good laugh after looking at the picture! As it does look like I'm an old pissy pants!
  11. Took the day off from work to fish Saratoga Lake with my old neighbor. I get to hunt his property. So made sure he caught some too!
  12. Trimmed back and riding the pad!!! Whoohoo!
  13. Be nice to get into "that" camo!!!
  14. I was almost ten when I started working at the farm at the end of our road. At twelve, I started to help putting in hay for three other local farmers. Those four farmers were all friends, and big into deer hunting. They took a fatherless kid under their wing, and got me started hunting. Those men are all gone now. But their lessons of life, and hunting have never left me.
  15. I've found the trail entering and exiting the oxbows, the best way to hunt the bucks hiding in there. Use prevailing wind to your advantage. If set up right, they won't know you're hunting them.
  16. Been a long time since there has been a second amendment win in NYS!!! Long overdue!!!
  17. I'm struggling to pull 50lbs. But have no doubt that it will zip through a deer.
  18. Fold and wipe. Fold and wipe. Till there is no more brown in sight.
  19. Happy Birthday Brian!!! All the best to ya on your special day my friend!

  21. Not sure my old ticker could handle seeing a buck like that walking towards me in the woods!! But what a way to go!!!........................
  22. Hoping it's just a minor inconvenience Larry. And that you and the Mrs. enjoy the camping trip!
