  1. Although it's not perfect, it's still the greatest nation on earth. Happy Bithday America!
  2. Cool pic's! Seems like that log is a favorite spot for all sorts of birds. Got fish in the pond?
  3. Happy Birthday Paula! Hope your day is filled with family, friends and good times. Enjoy your special day!
  4. We have bears, coyote's, bobcats, fox and a number of other hunting birds and critters in the woods behind my house. Should I move I move to the burbs because they are all out there killing and eating? Think I'll just stay right here and take my chances.
  5. Have never had the opportunity to eat a horse. But I have been hungry enough to eat one! So yeah, why not. I have most likely eaten it before, and not known it.
  6. It's just the way of the woods. Although it did happen in a backyard this particular video. It happens in the woods every day. Just a bear doing what bears do. Nothing to see here folks, just move along.
  7. God speed for Sir Oz's journey. When your time comes, he will be there waiting for another hunt . It's always so hard to let them go.
  8. PM sent back to you phade. Jared, Zac and I want to thank you for your generous offer! We are having more woods time together this year and it will be put to good use. Got to say, there are some really good people on this site! Thanks!
  9. I have two grandsons age 11 and 13 that are nuts about hunting. The younger one went to a graduation last week and he was asked to dress up . He asked if camo would be OK...lol
  10. Those Troopers are holding a much bigger trophy than I ever will. Nice job guys!
  11. Welcome! You found a great place for info and tips. Some good hunters here that are always willing to share info. Good luck in all your future hunting adventures.
  12. Guess I showed everyone how much I know about bears!........lol
  13. He's a big boy for sure! I'm no bear expert, but guessing around 300 pounds.
  14. My main focus as a hunter, when I decide to pull the trigger on a deer, is to have it Dead Right There, or down as quickly as possible. And the larger, more powerful rounds and slugs, just seem to be more efficient for me. I'm all for making deer hunting a challenge if that is what you want to do. That's why we have black powder guns, deer sized hand guns, recurve, compound and crossbows. My point is to understand the capabilities, and limitations of any weapon used, and to kill as quickly and efficiently as possible. We owe that to the game we hunt!
  15. At some point, ammo will be the main currency. So sad to see it coming to that.
  16. Congrats! You should be very proud.
  17. As a member of Deer Search, I can tell you that I have had more than a few calls to find deer shot with a 22-250 and 243s. Most were not recovered. Now I'm not saying that they won't kill deer. You just have a smaller margin for error on shot placement, and usually a very light blood trail. That being said, with the right bullet and knowing the the rifles capabilities as well as your own, have at it. To each their own.
  18. From what I hear, the trooper used a hand gun,on a running target. And got two hits with two shots. Nice shooting! But I wish the shot placement was just a bit better.
  19. Nice job Biz! Very nice collection of critters and the room looks great.
  20. I think the AR platform makes a fine sporting gun. Wish I had one and could use it here, set up the way I would want it to be.
  21. Good one! Is he on the hit list for this season?
  22. Our NYS law enforcement has done a great job under very difficult conditions. One down and one to go. Hoping they wrap this up soon.
  23. With her dowry, I can buy me a simmons scope to put in these empty rings! And maybe a new t-shirt from wally world too!
