Not Saturday, but I've been out a few mornings in the last week to listen and locate. I'll be going with my brother in law on Sunday.

Has anyone ever seen such a prolonged period of North and NE winds? It seems odd to me. I don't think we've seen one day with a south wind this month here in Liv Co. A dry pattern for sure and not good for stream trout fishing.

For all day deer hunts where I'm walking in 2 miles to get to my stand I dress light for the walk in and pack in the rest of my cloths, water and food and gear for the day's adventure. It's about 20 lbs.

I've had the Browning Dark OP's for a while now and really like it. I just picked up another on sale at Midway USA: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/396972/browning-dark-ops-hd-black-flash-game-camera-camo They have outstanding video quality and I recommenced setting it up for video mode. I didn't realize what I was missing out on until I set it to video mode.

Good job on trying to get them established again. Just hearing about it brings back fond memories of warm fall days hunting the thick hedgerows near corn fields.

Looks like a great place to live!

Heard This on CNN This Morning

I should know the facts? Based on everything I've read it's my opinion that under the Obama administration we have reduced our military. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2015/dec/14/politifact-sheet-our-guide-to-military-spending-/ I'll agree both sides in congress have failed. We are also allowing anyone to enter our country which is a big concern to me. We don't have a good way to screen people and there are many out there who wish to do us harm. And, I didn't say anything about Bush so I'm not sure why it was brought up. The question was what the current Prez would do. -

Obama's response? The guy who called isis the 'jv team' no worries there. The guy who handed back billions of dollars to Iran, the largest supporter of terrorists in the world and the ones intent on "wiping US and Isreal off the face of the map".....and chanted "death to America" during the talks. The guy who insists on reducing our military might, while we have several countries threatening us like this? I fear we are becoming weak and opening ourselves up for harm and our leader has his head up is arse. -
Was that private land or is there public fishing access?

You want to soak the wood chips in water so they smoke and don't burn as much. Also keep in mind that you don't need to have wood smoke going during the entire smoke to get good results. You'll have to play with it a bit and keep an eye on it to see how quickly it goes through the chips. Hope this helps.

If goes to full inclusion then I'd buy a crossbow and hunt with it at times, but I would continue to hunt with my compound as well. I'd be glad for all the guys with shoulder issues and would welcome the use of another tool as a choice to hunt with.

I've seen a lot of rubs like this the past few years.

My prayers to you and your family during this difficult time.

There has to be something to it because the odds would say it'd be closer to 50/50 But it seems like I'm only finding one right side per 10 left. Maybe it will all even out in the end?

Trail cameras sure are fun. It's neat to see what wanders by a set like this as it warms up and the snow melts. Life in the woods captured on camera. Thanks for sharing.

5ft Ultra light Fenwick rod, Shamano spinning reel w 4 or 6lb test. I usually drift worms to wild trout. I use a similar setup for bass fishing in the Adirondacks too. Nothing like catching a 16 inch bass on light tackle.

Found 3 yesterday so here's my season total. Based on past years and this one I'm beginning to think my eyes just don't pick up the right side for some reason.

It is a good time of year to get all kinds of chores done, especially indoors. I do want to get in some perch n trout fishing soon and have been scouting n shed hunting when I get the chance.

Anyone else scouting new ground during the off season?

Maybe I will have a photo of you on there! lol I don't charge a lot for glossy prints. I'm over on the east side. I did have a photo of a couple of guys that walked by one cam a few weeks ago. It looked like they were shed hunting. -
Grass fields are good cover for deer and eventually turn into brush lots and brush lots hold deer....Lots of deer! It supplies a bedding area and renewable browse. It's also habitat for song birds and other valuable wildlife.

There's still a lot of snow in the woods but the fields are bare and I was lucky to spot a couple this afternoon. One is from a really nice buck I have pictures of, so I hope to get back and look around a little more.

I'm glad to see some different pickle brands to try on here. I used to think a pickle was a pickle till I've gotten some really bad ones lately.

Good one grow, was thinking the same thing.

I like mine about 3.5 feet high, and always try to face them north. Having the camera at the same level as your subject just makes for a better picture in my opinion. If you have slope you'll have to take that into consideration on the angle of the camera. I use small sticks to get an angle that looks good to me. As far as distance from the game trail, 10-15 yards is about right. If it's too close, you may end up with just half of an animal.
