Yes,i was amazed how remote it felt. It is really pretty down there,and the fish like it too. We are going for a 5hr hike today,but i hope to get back on the river after that.

Hey tacks,i went to the spot you suggested today. Beautiful. I tied a double nymph rig on and added some strike putty and weight and got that tangled right away. First caught it on a rock,then when it pulled loose in a tree branch. But i was not getting discouraged. Two guys fished above me,but they were the impatient type. I got brave and waded close to a slow slot that had to have fish in it,and i was right. Caught a 11 " brown,and then a little later his bigger brother out of the same slot,a 15" one. They fight good in the current. Then i went downstream hitting some more plunge pools. Caught and lost a few more. Great day on the water,thanks for the tip! This forum is great!

I have a wading staff,but left it at home like a pro. I am out of practice when it comes to going fishing. It rained this a.m.,but stopped now. Mikey going for more trout today!!

Well i fished the Au Sable today just above Au Sable forks. What a crazy river,wading is difficult! I had a hit or two in some serious pocketwater,was fishing a double nymph setup. Then i added more weight to try to get down in the current. Next cast i hooked a nice one and couldnt tell you if it was a brown or rainbow,never got it to the surface. It got downstream from me since i had to move very cautiously and it finally got off. Then i proceeded to loose a good dozen of flies in the rocks. This river is hard to wade and hard to fish. I saw no surface action. I will have to try again in the morning...

I forgot how cool that buck looked. What a great mount.

Has anyone fished the west branch of the Au Sable? I am going up today and am itching to get my fly line wet. It will be high i guess,but fishing high water is better than not fishing.

Big game for me. I only hunt deer,and the occasional nuisance woodchuck. Fishing for trout in streams my other passion.

I am waiting for my new broadheads to come in. Gonna try the montec g5 with lighted nocks on the arrows as well. I am super curious to see where they land compared to my field points. Hopefully the same spot,but there is plenty of time before the season to fine tune everything.

Is it illegal to shoot a bow out of a vehicle? I went to a 3d shoot where they had a door and seat set up,but you have to sit on the passenger seat to shoot out the drivers window. It sure messed with my form...

Hey,nice shooting jeremy. That elite looks a lot like my halon x pro.I am not stacking the arrows quite like that at 50 yet,but i am getting there. I will head to a 3d shoot or maybe even two next weekend.

Wow,looks amazing. I am excited to see so many people are using asparagus as it is now in season. I just had my first last night,but i didn't take a pic. Good stuff on here for sure.

That is the smoke chamber of my masonry heater i built in my house last year. Its main job is heating,but you can cook in it when the fire has died down. My father,brother and nephew are visiting from Germany and we had a pizza party. We made almost ten different ones. Temperature in the heater was probably around 800F. I have an infrared thermometer,but those only read surface temps,and the bricks were at 500 F.

I sharpen my chains until they start loosing teeth altogether and look more like the locals,hehehe. By then they drift a little,also like the locals. Also,i am a late bloomer and didn't get my first chainsaw until i was 26. Heck,i didn't start hunting until i was 36.

I am with crappy on this,holy bob!!! That is an awesome haul for 30 mins,congrats! My brother and his son are coming to visit me from Germany on Monday,i think i will have to enlist them to the morel squad...Six eyes see more than two. This should be a great morel year because of the moisture,right?
