First shot at about 46 again, gonna have to try a different spot tomorrow. I love my new used bow. Haha,i didn't know my doggie photo bombed the shot.

I have done very little scouting, but i am starting to scan the fields and woods edges hard on the drive to work in the mornings. I will put one cam out soon, maybe a second if i can find it. I put it up in the snow in the woods and couldn't find it this spring. The strap might have rotted and it may be on the ground. So i will be going in half blind anyway. I hope the apples stay on the trees longer this year, the last couple of years they were a non factor during hunting season.

Now todays group was something to get excited about. 46 yds again, and the first shot is one of the center ones,no clue which.
-
That's what i do,a board to slide the deer up on. That works pretty good for now. Nice ride biz
-
Here is my first at about 46 yds. And the other 4 arrows. Not a bad group, but not excellent.

My tomatoes are looking awesome,my greens got attacked by slugs but are bouncing back. Things are really dry now, hard to believe after this spring...
-
Nice group, and i have the same target! I have been practicing, but i keep forgetting to bring my phone out with me. Maybe tomorrow..I started to shoot at 50 yds with my compound, and most groups are not bad relatively speaking.

Cant miss the swimming hole,it is a park, you can drive right in.

There is a big swimming hole and picknick area at wintergreen falls, outside of canajoharie. Also the erie canal bike trail,no traffic, that would be good for the kids. Herkimer diamond mines might be fun too,you break rocks looking for diamonds. I have never been, but then i break rocks for living. No,not in jail,i am a mason.

Wait a minute,i know of make up sex,but break up sex? Seems highly unlikely... I am willing to be enlightened though.

My wife and i had a couple of homemade jalapeno margheritas, awesome summer cocktail. It is not easy to improve a margherita, but the jalapeno does give it a little twist. -
Venison burgers, salmon for the wife and Quinoa and green beans.

I think the op os talking about a tree sling, not a climbing harness. The slings are supposed to be comfy, not sure how the climbing part works...

I think i might bring a bunch of firewood in my basement. I hate having that hanging over me when bow season starts. There will be time for some venison burgers and some brewskis as well. -
That's a skinny big brown,or is it just the pics? Still a blast to catch that thing i bet. Did you use an emerger or a dry?
-
I got my new broadheads, montecs g5,and new arrows. Everything hits the same spot at 20 yds,my old arrows with the broadhead and the new ones with broadheads and lighted nocks. The new string on the bow seems to have sped the arrows up some too, unless i am imagining things. It's a possibility.

I wish, but i have to keep my nose to the grindstone for a while. I will be looking for your fishing report though.

west branch of the Delaware? Only a little over an hour from my house....

Absolutely agree with you grampy. I think i may build a few ground blinds in some promising spots and i also want to set up some spots with a friend for our climbing stands. One of us will climb up and direct the other to clear branches and twigs. I also want to set up a few stands in different spots,i never got around to it last year. I am putting one close to the area where i saw the monster buck opening day of gun season last year. I have an old wild apple orchard at my house and want to set up a ground blind down in there. The last couple of years the apples were gone before bow season ,so i hope that will be different this year. That can be a huge draw, and there is a nice spot that has thick cover to one side,i would just have to brush in the front. There is a spot where the deer jump the 4' woven wire fence between my and my neighbors pasture, exactly 25 yds from the blind site. Last year was odd around here because the food sources were so sparse,i think the deer ate in October the way they eat in January generally, browsing far and wide. I am curious what this fall will bring.

My peep used to twist on my old bow,i had to have it adjusted, it was too much of a pain to deal with it.
-
Ok,here are my arrows. They are vaps.
-
i second that post, let us know how you like it.
-
I have to look at them in the morning, the shaft is half the diameter of the regular carbon arrows. The tip flares out to accept the field points/broadheads,and i think it is the same for the nock end. The guy at my shop says their penetration is ridiculous. They were the same price as my gold tip arrows. I will post some pics tomorrow.

My three cents. A gun blind on c,for the range and view there, looks like it would be easy to access as well. J for a ground/brush blind,it looks like a bunch of ridges converge there, which seems like a good travel corridor. E looks like a good spot, but i would move it closer to F so my scent wouldnt blow across the center of that gully. It would be very interesting to see what travels through those two gullys coming to and fro the river.

I got a new string on my bow today, got lighted nocks and new broadheads and arrows,i am trying those skinny armor piercing ones. I shot the new arrows with broadheads and lighted nocks attached and everything is dead on. My equipment is 100% ready this year, now i need to just shoot a lot. I generally am barely looking at deer after the season ends, but they are starting to look tasty now. I still have to switch a few stands around and clear some shooting lanes, but i should be in good shape come October. I am doing everything in my power to insure a better season this fall than i had last year, it shouldn't really be hard to do better than that,it was the worst season ever for me. How are you guys doin?
