Holy crow are the news outlets roasting him for speaking the truth. It's a valid question and why is no one answering it. There is no logical answer to that is why. I don't know if I heard it right but on the radio they said there are some 800,000 illegal immigrants on the deportation list. That is a whole lot of illegals the sad part is it's barely the tip of the iceberg.

Yeah still have their head gear around me.

Just have to raise your kids right unlike what you see on TV. A lot has to do with the generation that is basically raised by what they see in the media. The cell phone is one of the biggest contributing factors to where they see the garbage earlier in life. Everything is at the tips of their fingers and I won't go into how bias the social media sites are.

chas0218 replied to rob-c's topic in ATV's , UTV's, Dirtbikes & Snowmobiles
Just around the property doing maintenance kind of stuff. My 2011 sportsman has 270 miles on it if that tells you anything. Use it to launch the jetskis at the lake, spray roundup around the house and food plots, use it for spraying my grapes, apple trees, and house for insects. I need a SXS thinking one of those Kubotas would be nice for firewood and all. Miles are going to start to get racked up when I start plowing with it. -
I have a buddy that used one and it just annihilated the thing. It was also a FMJ. Same guy uses a M1A with soft points and had good result DRT kind of stuff.

Local Snowmobile Ride

Any snow we had here on the southern tier was gone after Monday and TUesday at latest still was only a few inches. I can't believe the people that actually got their sleds out and rode around. The small lakes will all be unfishable/not able to be travelled with all this rain on top of the ice and the large amounts of runoff. -
On any larger body of water ice will be sketchy at best after the warm temps and the rain we are supposed to get. Then you get 6" of snow to help insulate the lake and not allow it to freeze as quickly. I'm betting we are going to hear a lot more reports.

I bought this scentblocker 1/4 zip base layer that is close to wool weight and is nice and warm. I use it as a base layer during late season only because walking around with it on I will sweat almost instantly. My lower half is dressed with polypro late season and weather proof for early season. Either way with my bibs, base layer, and fleece pants I'm plenty warm for 3 or 4 hour sits even in sub zero. The problem is usually my feet or hands get cold then go numb.

I saw that but the "guidelines" aren't an amendment to the law. The wording still isn't "you can not be charged" so it is up to the judge at that point. My step dad is a retired trooper and he said that if you get an anti 2nd amendment judge they may try to burn you at the stake for it. "guidelines that police are supposed to follow when enforcing the 2013 law.; members are instructed not to enforce PL 265.37 at this time.''

Q: How can I check the status of my recertification? A: Your recertification status can be checked at https://firearms.troopers.ny.gov/pprecert/ Well if they ask then I would tell them but unless you have it in plain sight they won't ask. My buddy had his 1911 in his glove box where his registration was. Told the police officer and he asked my buddy to get out with hands on the hood while the cop got the registration. He shut the glove box and had him walk back to his car and wait. Never asked him for his permit or anything, didn't run any numbers just told him to fix his light and sent him on his way. Same guy was nuisance hunting for a grape vineyard at night and had the cops called after shooting at a deer. He had it on his hip in plain sight, cops showed up asked if he had a permit said yes and asked if they wanted to see the gun. The one cop declined while the other did and the only reason why was because it was the Smith airweight .357 and the cop was looking to get one. Again no numbers ran and nothing checked other than permissions from vineyard owner.

Do not. NY is not a state in which you have to inform them. Only time I would inform them is if they want to search you or your vehicle. I would ask what the probable cause is and by that point I would be recording the conversation via cell phone.

Yup, I want one. Wonder if they have a back-light for the low light times. Neat how it can guide you to your arrow/hit sight. That is a great aid as things don't quite look the same from the ground. Holy hell I just saw the price. NVM I'll pass. I was thinking for $300 or $400 it wouldn't be horrible being that is what a good range finder for go for.

Last I knew it was overruled in WNY so you could carry 10 rounds in a 10 round mag (A.K.A. California Mag) but the law has not been amended so it is technically still illegal. Here is a good article that outlines the number of rounds portion of the law. Now what they consider a range is vague at best my range is on my own property so if my gun is at my house on property it is at the range and can legally have 10 rounds in it. Carrying on person I can "legally" have no more than 7+1 but the cops "shouldn't" bother me if I had 10. In reality unless you are in a shoot out with some bad guy then how would know unless you are open carrying. https://psanded.com/7-or-10-rounds/

Don't take the lines as gospel they are off a little for my properties in Wayne county but being able to see them is a plus compared to the old survey maps then making an overlay.

Ones issued before Jan 15th 2013 (when the SAFE act was signed into law). This applies even if you transferred counties. Q: How will I know when to recertify my pistol / revolver license? A: If your license was issued before January 15, 2013, the deadline to submit your recertification is January 31, 2018 and every five years thereafter. If your license was issued on or after January 15, 2013, the deadline to recertify is five years after the date the license was issued and every five years thereafter. Q: I was originally issued a pistol / revolver license years ago but have recently transferred to another county. When completing my recertification, which issue date should I enter? A: The issue date entered should be the date (or approximate date if unknown) that you were originally issued a pistol / revolver license, not the date that you transferred or amended your license. So many of us that are recert. this month must do it 5 years from this month. So every 5 years they will have a flood of paperwork during this month. Well I hope they have a flood of paperwork. Unless they get smart and change the recert date for many to other months to space it out.

Exactly! x2 I would get it and would expect my neighbors to do the same.

Problem is these groups don't have enough pull politically to make a difference. There have been Pro 2nd amendment groups around for far longer than Cuomo has been in office but still have not been able to stop the gun laws. I don't want to say I have no faith in them but it doesn't seem to change any politician's minds on the matter. Few are willing to listen to the gun rights groups.

I'm not going to get into this too much but out of all the candidates running this past election I don't see any that were more fit for office than Trump if not less fit. The country is more of a business than many want to admit so it should be ran like one. Proof is in the pudding, look at the stock market since he has been sworn in. We needed a president with a backbone and I think that is what we got. After 8 years of a president drawing lines in the sand then moving that line every time it was crossed countries have walked all over the US. Look at all the so called "deals" we were in but were getting screwed.

Local Snowmobile Ride

Rode while going to college in Oswego, loved it put on about 1000 miles/year. Had a 2004 ZL600 EFI esr had remote start and the works. Had a wiseco top end, clutched, reed spacers, geared, reeds. Had the oil turned down to a 60:1 she ran up there with the 700's when she hooked up. My intention was to extend her to 144" but sold it after moving to the southern tier. Liked the sled a lot and always think about getting back into it but with the kids right now they aren't old enough to ride or drive so that will all have to wait. -
Here is a link to some of the commonly asked questions. https://troopers.ny.gov/FAQs/Firearms/Recertification/
-
Nope according to their site it makes no difference as by the time you need to recert again you will need to add that under the list. Q: Since submitting my recertification, I have acquired/disposed of firearms or changed my address. What should I do? A: The process for amending your pistol / revolver license has not changed. File an amendment with your county licensing authority. Amendments have no impact on recertification.

Yes as a finishing shot if needed. I only had one instance where I hit a deer high in the spine it flopped around so I ran over and put a 9mm in it's head. I wasn't about to shoot it again with the .270 when it is flopping all over the place just to cause it more pain.

I'm not sure I will make it out this season 2 year in a row I might miss the hard water. Last season my wife was bed rest with our 2nd child and after with the new born she wasn't so keen on me leaving her with a couple of young ones. My oldest is 3 in just a couple days so I'm thinking maybe I can get away for a weekend or at least take him with me. Even if we can't stay out long it would still be nice to take him.

That's no good 1 is close to the house which ends up being close to the road, maybe I can pass it off as part of my yard.
