  1. My opening day gun spot is in a thick area and I'd say I mostly hear them first before seeing them. If I don't hear them first they are usually right in front of me before I know it and sometimes that's to late. Most other spots I sit tend be be visual only because I can see much further out.
  2. I cheated and used a chloroform sent drag. He never stood a chance.
  3. I'm not even sure I can sneak up on one that's already dead!

  7. I don’t know. October 1st through the end of the regular season is a lot of dedication a lot of early wake up calls and a lot of time waiting for that one perfect deer and that one perfect shot. By the end of this weekend I’ll be glad it’s over and will look forward to sleeping in on the weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Like one that may or may not have been 2 feet off target? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Well I learned something from this video and that is compared to these people I don’t move at all in the stand especially while drawing the bow back. Holy hell they would have been busted in a heart beat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I’m a bit beyond the new girlfriend stage but love trumps hunting (sorry) It happens but if the new girlfriend turns into more and is right for you hunting and the new girlfriend all equal out and turns into a new better life. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. A pennsyltucky guy I know does it this way but hangs it by the hind legs. Splits it open, cuts diaphragm, esophagus, anus and lets it spill into a Large pale. It worked but it seemed so bizarre to me as it didn’t seem to save time and it reminded me of that scene from one of the silence of the lambs movies where he gutted a dude and tossed him over a balcony. 12. With my 12 year old black lab on my lap we say our sincere condolences. 16 years is a great run. May your memories carry you through this difficult time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. Good for you am giving them a nice lecture. Sometimes we don’t learn from our mistakes and it’s takes the knowledge of others to help us along the way. I hope most of these hunters you help won’t take the same poor shot next year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. So sorry mowing, losing your pup is so hard. May you find comfort in your memories with him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. And so it begins... Bacon wrapped venison filet, smashed potato and broccoli. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Little sad I’m not out but I’ve got 2 stocks on the stove. Rotated tires, kids are making a gingerbread house, dinner is planned, football game is on the TV. I’ll just have to hit it hard Saturday and Sunday Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Not for dinner tonight but a start. The left is a chicken stock for a yet to be decided soup and the right is beef stock for French onion soup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Just move it out of the way. After reading a few others it sounds like maybe removing it first might be easier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I start at the ribs and cut down to the genitals. Cut each side of the diaphragm, then reach in as far as I can to cut the esophagus then cut the anus out. After that it all just pulls out and I flip the deer belly side down to drain the blood before throwing it in the ATV. I've never timed myself but I'd guess I'm pretty slow compared to others.
