  1. Yeah for $399 lol. Why not buy the Hammerjack for $299?
  2. They dont offer the Crossfire any longer, the Hammerjack is the lowest end 2 speaker model.
  3. Fox Pro definately makes some great e-callers, but their budget ones are nothing great. I would not recommend a single speaker call. Been there, done that. Their HammerJack looks to be a great one, with dual speakers, a nice remote and a decoy built right into it (not useful for night calling though). You will be looking at $300 for that one. Currently I am using a Primos Alpha Dogg, and I do have to say, its just about as nice as any FoxPro that I have ever used. Plenty of sounds and features, and the ability to load custom sounds. The range of the remote is great, Ive used it at 60+ yards with no issues. The only feature that I wish it had that the FoxPro has, is something like Fox Bang, where it switches to a different sound right at the shot. I do, however, love the programmable sequences. It makes it nice and easy to hunt solo at night. Just program up a few different sets, power up and let it play. The only thing you have to adjust is the volume. You can pick up an Alpha Dogg online for around $169 or so.
  4. That settles it then! Crossbow full inclusion, as its a less effective weapon!
  5. All of mine are still out. I was going to pull them this past weekend, but it was too darn cold. Another couple of weeks and then Ill bring most of them back in. Food plot cams will stay for a while longer.
  6. For me, if SHTF, I would want either an AR chambered in .223 or an AK based rifle in 7.62x39. Either of those rounds are going to be pretty easy to find, no matter where you go, parts for either are pretty abundant, either one is capable of taking down most game or people, and they are easy to clean/maintain. If I could add a second firearm, it would be a 12 gauge pump, preferably a Mossberg 500 or Remington 870, for the same reasons as the rifles.
  7. Awesome stuff here guys! TF, anytime you want to wander out this way during bow season, let me know, Ill get you into the stand of your choice!
  8. I have an old Primos that has been blown down by the wind a few times and has caved in from snow. Ive had to fix some of the poles (used fiberglass driveway markers) and she has a few tears in the material, but it still works. I also have some Ameristep blinds and like those. Last one I bought was an Ameristep Dominator (pretty much the same as the current Element), which has been great so far.
  9. Im looking forward to getting out there with Haley again! Maybe we can make it 2 years in a row for her! I was keeping an eye on the birds during deer season, and we have a good group of toms on one of the farms. Should make for another year of good hunting!
  10. Ive tried most of them, they all suck. Personally Id rather have an e-caller with a remote. You can put it a short distance away from you, maybe 10 or 20 yards, then if and when the deer come to it, their attention isnt focused directly on you (had that very thing screw me a few times). I have a Primos Alpha Dogg and the deer grunts sound pretty good. One of these days Ill remember to give it a try while Im deer hunting.
  11. Nope. If you read about it, they made the no trophy law back in August. This is a new law that ends grizzly hunting for everyone except people of the first nations.
  12. So you are misunderstanding what exactly people are saying needs to be shortened. Its GUN SEASON, not deer season as a whole.
  13. Ive heard of guys doing it, but I dont know first hand of any. Doe tags, sure. In fact, my daughter signed hers over to me once she was done bow hunting, in case I needed them, which I didnt. I also dont know any women that buy a license and dont hunt, or let their husbands use their buck/either sex tags. Other than news stories, I dont listen to much on facebook as far as those stories go. People are worse on there with made up stuff than a bunch of little old ladies in a sewing circle.
  14. Yep, you have the blade backwards. That is going to cause alot of pressure on the plate, which its not designed for, so the metal twists and bends, and the end cap pops off. Plus, the blade and auger are causing the plate not to sit straight in the tube. You can see it right in the one picture you took. Most grinders are built with the same type of cast metal as yours. Most likely nothing at all wrong with the grinder. Turn that blade around and you should have no problems.
  15. The numbers shown were for the basic hunting license. They dont count each type of license in that number, just the number of individual people that purchased a hunting license.
  16. Getting trailcam pics of a buck, or a bunch of bucks, is a whole different ballgame than putting a tag on one. Want to know why its easy to get lots of trailcam pics of bucks before the season starts or through most of bow season? They are moving more due to lack of...... ....you guessed it...pressure!
  17. Screw that. Lost one of my very good friends last winter when he went off the ice on a sled. You will never catch me on ice again.
  18. Whats that orange chunky stuff on your wiener?
  19. My girlfriend texted me this morning to let me know it was "colder than a Nun's box" out there Box of what I asked her. "Sins" she said...
