    My poor buddy got skunked this morn. Heard him growl after I let him out and I opened the door and he jumps up on the deck and the skunk comes right behind him chasing him. Got him in and closed the door quick. Two baths in and he is penned into the hunting/fishing room in the back for now. I have a manager meeting this morn and guess who else smells like skunk....yeah prob not gonna make it today. Oh and that skunk just sealed his fate! Spray my buddy will ya.....

    I shoot 340 arrows at 64#s with grim reaper whitetail broadheads. I would say 65-70 percent. (Had to think about it). But some of those times I didn't was because it hit the outside leg or shoulder. I wouldn't say success is always a pass thru as a gut shot is an easy pass thru, but cert not the perfect shot. And also depends on distance and angle.

    I guess they sell around 20% of ammo in US. So a big company making a stand. I have been asked at Walmart here in town for over a year if it was pistol ammo I was buying. I of course tell them no as the person at register has no idea . And most ammo can be rifle or pistol anyway. But is .22 etc gonna be considered pistol ammo and they stop selling it? And the people that boycotted Dicks....will they boycott Walmart ? I don't boycott either way. Our Walmart hasn't sold guns in at least 5 years here.

    Made a hash out of smoked venison pastrami. Eggs over and bionic potato topping. So good. And enough for tomorrow night too.

    there is nothing like having a ladder stand all prepped and ready and just quietly sneak into it. One time I was hunting on the ground, just tucked in some brush. Guy with a climber came by and about 15 yards away started going up a tree and never saw me. All the noise and commotion wouldve scared anything away. I stood up and moved - he looked over and saw me and came back down - so I moved even farther away.

    i use muzzy crossbow 100 grain broadheads. They have worked great - all pass throughs and have shot a few deer with mine now and a yote.

    bought a bag of these peppers and made a box of stove top, fried up some loose venison sausage and cut up some pepper jack. Stuffed peppers then put them in freezer to make when i want. I put them on the grill with the grill plate usually, these i just did in the oven.

    Seems like a lot of the weeds and vines are already dying. Acorns have been dropping.

    Looked at 10 day forecast and decided to pull AC out of window. Looks like some nights in the 40s. I even started up furnace and fireplace to do a check on everything. All is good. Sure seems like a very cool end of Aug/begin of Sept. Hope its not 80 in Oct now.

    You wasted no time breaking those in! You should def check it out . Right up your alley. A bunch of people from work went this year they said it was.awesome.
