I don't own any guns, but I borrow an 870 12 ga. riffled barrel, Leupold scope, shooting a Brenneke Black Magic 3" magnum slug at 1136 ft/sec; 1724 ft. lbs.; + 1.6. I don't settle for "Good Enough.".
Not so much in my area, but on our other farm across the hollows, all hell breaks loose. It starts at crack of dawn and runs until the enemy surrenders. I believe they knock their telecommunications out, then their runways are bombed, LOL.
The Bear 582 is a nice knife. The only thing that turns me off is the India stag bone. Not a true 100% American knife. Many are stated American, but most aren't 100% today.
Shipping is a killer, something like $20 bucks a tire.
I install my own as I been doing it on tractors and combines for 30 years. If I can handle a a 30.5L x 32, I certainly can install a 16" car tire, LOL.
I've sat on the ground, away from good size trees more this season, than any other season just for this reason. I had a " near" widow maker teach me years ago, to respect the wind
Should of had a V-8, LOL.
Rain and wind since noon. I'm heading out now. An 8" tree got torn up 100' from the house last night. Rub a little salt in my wounds.
It took me a good deal longer to mentally prepare for shooting deer with a bow, say 5 years. At that time period and I lets some dandies walk by too. IDK, a bullet just seemed more ethical then an arrow to me. Maybe it was because I was just more comfortable with a gun then a bow. I like a good clean kill. Theirs just so much more room for error with a bow and arrow.
