heard not a thing yesterday morn..
landtracdeerhunter replied to sits in trees's topic in Turkey Hunting
Might be a little early, but with the mild temps, one would think things to be opening up anytime. What model Int. is in your pic. Nice rest.. -
Wow, a 10 ga with extra full choke. That would be like firing a cannon.

Watched a couple NYBBC antler scorers last night at a seminar. Some were fair size, others were smaller. All were trophys to the taker, with some great stories to go along. The excitement that goes along, you kind of get caught up in the moment. It was nice to see people enjoying the sport.

They need to raise prices, like everyone else is doing. Two percent inflation, so says the fed..

Really don't think that 2000 an acre is bad for good rich farmland and established hardwood woods. Their is no way, wetlands are worth that. I would hope the property has more to offer for 128 K. Have an indepentdent appraiser come in, if your serious about the property.

Always enjoy your pics.

I think if I was going to throw a few bucks at some decoys, go with a couple bobble head hens, and a jake, just to start out. Knowing what to set out when, is the key to better success. Depends on early, mid, or late season . What works today won't tomorrow . Also, every time I set a struter decoy out, I have a nice tom come in just out of gun range. They won't come in any further. Use that now, for a Thanksgiving day centerpiece, lol. Main thing is to get your calling down pat. Turkeys usually hear a call way before sighting a decoy. Sound like a turkey, you may not even need the decoys, unless your bowhunting, then you do. Countdown, 55 days till May 1st. phade, I would of liked to see some picks of that decoy, to cool.

Doc, I agree with your first paragraph. We have purchased Moultries for years with little issues. The last camera we purchased, which was the IR 50, nothing but problems. They want at least $50 to repair, include shipping both ways, might as well buy another camera. Thinking of the reconditioned route this time. At least some of the issues, might be ironed out. Highly question, whether it will be a Moultrie though.

Bubba, is that how bad our justice system has become?

Another monster from the Ithaca area?
landtracdeerhunter replied to WNY Bowhunter's topic in Deer Hunting
Does anyone know what the net score, weight, etc. ended up being? Is their going to be a story about it? Sure going to be one nice mount. -
Thanks for posting. Their are some new graphs in the 2011 Deer Harvest Report, that some might find interesting. Indices of Deer Condition,Habitat Quality, and Antler Restriction Program. Pages 13 and 14. Also note the number of Crossbow Harvest, statewide.

Season started Jan. 29th for western NY. Haven't heard any shooting. Thanks for the correction.

Those are some dandies. Did you have to pay a tax to bring across state lines? Been near Pike County, Illinois but never Iowa.

A special snow geese season runs from March 11, 2012- April 15, 2012 for much of the state. Seen a few over the weekend.

To bad about the Moultries. Always liked their product. We have had good results with their older IR cameras, but they too, are starting to fail. I believe, after two seasons of steady use, their life ends rather rapidly. Maybe the company, you dealt with, buys the sorts.

Kinda what Doc's saying. Are special youth seasons actually working, or is the DEC shooting in the wrong direction? The Saturday opener was introduced to incorporate more youth, it didn't work. Once these programs are put into law, it's very difficult and expensive to get them changed. (Of coarse, that may be the idea , to give the politicians somthing to do.) If you introduce a child into hunting, wouldn't it be better in a real world experience.

Their more in likely very busy right now, but they should still be accommodating. Maybe just a bad day. Did you call them back?

I have family that live 12 miles west of there. So tragic. Ohio does have some lacks gun laws, next to Texas. Their be jumping all over this one. Would stricker gun laws have stop this, I say No. The shooter went to Auburn Tech, what their saying locally.

Nice job. What grade did you receive on this story?

Lower the legal shooting distance for bow????
landtracdeerhunter replied to ELMER J. FUDD's topic in Bow Hunting
Sorry bout that. Tried to reword the first sentence, but got posted. Just fumbling with the new laptop. Talking about neighbors building structures, taking hunting land out of use with the 500' rule. with no cosideration for the hunting community. -

How do these fancy above groung tree structure hunting blinds become legal to hunt out of. Lets face it, other people actions can change hunting properties. Most of these people don't even consider this when building, nor do they care. Sorry it's already the been the law for many years. -

It is illegal to discharge a firearm, crossbow, or bow within 500 feet of a dwelling, farm building, or structure in occupation or in use. What defines in use?
