  1. This law covers a large number of folding knives, to the right arresting officer that has a quick snap wrist action. Fixed blade knives can only be carried, legally while hunting with a current year hunting licence in hand. Knife laws, in this state were pushed through nearly as fast as the S.A.F.E. act was. Not to many people even said boo about it, or even cared. New York City and Rochester have blade length requirements. Local laws can vary, region to region.
  2. Calls of this magitude deserve nothing less than a custom built cabinet. Incorporate a turkey theme in the wood carvings, feather etched glass, and have small box calls for door handles. The possibilities are endless. Sometimes I run across some of these older calls on sales. Most, just plain jane. Some can be had for only a few bucks. Is their any value to good used box calls for display purposes?
  3. If it goes as fast as last deer season, May 1st will be here before you know it.
  4. Nice! Transylvania Romania is sure a long ways away to shed hunt. Count Buckula.
  5. Been coming up dry on coyote. All I see is deer at night.
  6. " Is this warm weather more than a trend? Per chance this winter has come to a end? Their is no shadow to be cast, an early spring is in my forecast. Friends of Punxsutawney Phil, LOL.
  7. Always raises my spirits to see wildlife out and about this time of year. The winter goes faster. I too spent several hours out in the woods. Saw some nice bunnies, weasel, squirrel, a number of different bird species including robins and three deer, one of which was still sporting a good looking set of antlers. No wonder, I haven't found any sheds yet, LOL. The deer were eating the young red clover leaves, that are growing.
  8. I like the idea your standing up for your rights. Being professionals, one would of thought business would have been conducted in a professional way. Sometimes, these agencies throw their weight around and don't get called out on it, as you can see by some of the responses given. Sounds like some of your passer byers need to lay off on the Animal Planet and watch more Hallmark channel.
  9. Outstanding Art. The contrast between the hunter and the deer are amazing. A beautiful one of a kind piece that is priceless, in my opinion. Sure one lucky hunter friend there; to be able to enjoy his trophy in so many ways.
  10. Sugarbush,Info forum has some great friendly people. They have helped me a lot. I got just three quarts of syrup out 48 gallons of sap. Sure have to work to boil this early sap into syrup. I can relate to enjoying their reverse osmosis equipment. I do hope for the later runs to increase sugar %. I like the March flows more.
  11. I would get close to three quarts of syrup on a typical boil down day, back then.
  12. Looks like a mild trend coming this weekend. Tapping trees tomorrow. Hope for a longer season this year.
  13. I'm curious to see what the reported antlered buck take was on October 16th.
  14. We had a pond dug back in 74. The DEC. was very helpful with the location and drainage requirements. It's still very useful for deer drink from it a ton during the summer months. Ash trees grew up on the north end of it; became home for woodcock, wood ducks, and a verity of birds. A well worth while investment.
  15. When the doe fawns start following you into the lawn, it's time to educate them.
  16. Last season , I found a 3 point and a 140" pair, day after Southern zone deer season ended.
  17. The lottery is simple another tax on the American people! Hell, they don' t even bait the hook, LOL.
  18. About half of what the whole winter has been so far. LES ended about 8:30 this morning yielding about three inches on the ground. Snow mobiles are a little pissed at this winter, so far. Haven't even thought about waxing the cross country skis yet.
  19. Executive Orders need approval from Congress for funding. Does anyone see this happening? Quack Quack.
  20. Nice deer, bad picture. Sends the wrong signals about hunting and alcohol consumption.
