Woods mature undergrowth dies and high grading of forest with poor timber management all play a role in decreased turkey number, not to mention the wet springs affecting hatch survival.. there are times I wish we would go back to a split spring season like when I started. Seems to stretch pressure and season out more than the frantic push during opening week.

Buy yourself a set of elevators 80 bucks or so and build a nice solid blind 6x6 is a good 2 person size ,you can make it for stand up bow shooting , put corrugated roof on it. As tall as you want or right on the ground , a nice rug for floor and put a buddy heater in it. Can get it built for under 400. Fabric material will become ov damaged in sun . So siding scraps or plywood is a better material..

Nope the barred is much larger owl this guy is little , I believe it is a northern saw whet owl . A mostly nocturnal owl could be reason it was so calm in daylight usually fly south but some stick around but only 8-10 in long or so compared to a barred owl 18 in or so.
