Spring Snow

The snow had them moving yesterday / this morning in Steuben County.

Yeah, Delaware County is a mess this morning.  Heavy wet snow.  Wires down.  Trees down on a lot of roads.  And my power is out.  Last outage lasted 36 hours.

Snowbound at cabin. No way I can get out of this road. 

Power out, so no water. Electric heat off. And oven decided to stop working.  

Sitting in car, charging phone. And loving it.

Do you have anything in the fridge , or are you going to have to go out and shoot something for dinner to cook over the campfire?

We got about 12”, trees down lost power at 5am no idea when we are supposed to get it back, neighbor has a tree on his house, I had 1 on my lawn.  They have a travel ban for chenango county as well.   Heard the roads are clear so I’ll try to get my wife and kids to my MIL who still has power.

Just finished The Comfort Crisis so I think I’m supposed to learn from my hunger for the next two days.

You should be ok for a while yet, according to the basic survival “rule of 3’s”. Almost anyone, in any weather conditions, can go 3 seconds without thinking, 3 minutes without breathing, 3 hours without shelter, 3 days without water, and 3 weeks without food.

48 hours and still no power. Snow has melted enough that I should be able to get out today. 

Not sure what I’m going to find out there - a ruined landscape or a brave new world. 

I hope there are survivors.

Except for the big piles the plows left and the tops of the mountains, everything has melted by me.  With temps in the 60's yesterday and expected again today, it will all be gone soon.
