yeah, I grew up at a different time too, could drive 5 minutes from home and go hunting...those day's are gone, we don't all live in a place where we can walk out the backdoor and go hunting anymore..some of us only have limited opportunities to get out there, some of us have to use vacation time and drive four hours to deer hunt, I welcome any extra time to get out there with my son and hunt......and yes, he has froze his ass off going up with me the past 2 years not being able to shoot a deer, so he know's what it's all about, so don't assume everyone is getting a free pass to shoot a deer without paying the price of tough times.....hopefully he can get the buck some selfish prick has been watching all summer.

Bubba try not grouping all hunters that want blaze orange in the same sentence...I know you have some affliction to blaze.....I personally don't and will have some on.......as far as the cross bow comment...that brings up a good point...If this is a youth gun opener...and cross bows are allowed in deer gun only...why wouldn't it be legal for kids to be using crossbows?...is it stated that they can't?

there you go grow.

FYI I'm farting around on the internet while my 4 year old is playing a dirtbike gme on the kindle, and my 7 year old is building a hunting cabin on his ipod touch. We're all at the dinner table and all sitting on our butts.

Lazy bastard! Mine are in bed, wife's working and I'm hanging with my dogs watching PBS. Nice huh. Lol

This is ridiculous. Why didn't the DEC just make the youth hunt September 29-30.

Would of put a lot of this horse crap out to pasture.

probably because they would need the license that runs out on 9/30. The new one starts 10/1. Most if just starting will not have a 2011-2012 license. Plus that is bow season in the north, and no one but bow hunters should be hunting at that time. B)
