Doewhacker
Mayor bloomberg Brady campaign So just to refresh, you said 80% of the government wanted to take all of our guns, I asked for a few names of congress and you gave me the Mayor of NYC and a name of a campaign. If you want to beleive the sky is falling you should at least have some facts to back it up.
Five Seasons
bloomberg/NYC has already banned firearms in the city. What he thinks as a city mayor doesn't worry me too much.
steve863
bloomberg/NYC has already banned firearms in the city. What he thinks as a city mayor doesn't worry me too much. Wrong. People need permits for long guns and it's harder than most places to get a pistol permit, but guns are NOT banned in NYC altogether. Culvercreek hunt club
Wrong. People need permits for long guns and it's harder than most places to get a pistol permit, but guns are NOT banned in NYC altogether. Yeah, we wont ban them becasue that would be unconstitutional. We will just make them so difficult to get and keep that no one will want to jump through all the hoops. Oh and lets make it very expensive to own so the average Joe can't afford them. But we won't ban them. As long as they aren't banned I feel much better...lol

As long as they aren't banned I feel much better...lol And it will be our own fault that we allowed the shooting world, which for years was the domain of law abiding hunters and target shooters to turn into a world of para-military guns and paraphernalia. Do you think this type of equipments original intents is to kill deer, rabbits, or shoot at paper targets, or was it intended to be used in some sort of armed conflict?? Do we need the jackboots, high capacity magazines, helmets and bullet-proof vests for hunting or plinking or even basic self-defense? You see that is the problem. Be it true or not, image and perception goes a LONG way in this world of sound bites and one line twitter posts. More than ever we have started to be viewed as a bunch of looneys getting all ready for some sort of armagedon with these type of guns and equipment and thus from now on we will forever be on the fringe of civilized society. I for one am very SAD that we shooters went down this road, because I knew where it would lead. Now it's up to you fellas to convince society otherwise. Good luck! Thats a stretch, I asked him a question and you replied like I asked you. I can't veiw your video at my work by the way but I am sure it doesn't contain the names of the 80% of politicians that want all of our guns like he stated. edit to say I went on my phone to see you posted a video of one senator from California. First-light
Just a question here and I'm not out to stoke the fire. The medical examiner said the 20 children were at least shot 3 times each with the most being 11. (I can't believe I'm even writing this) Lets take an average of 6 shots. That is 60 rounds he got off. How can you do that with that type of bushmaster gun? Are there 30 round clips/magazines you buy for it? I'm asking here because some of you are the experts on these guns?? I don't own one so I don't know. I remember in my pistol permit safety class them specifically telling us do not carry in NYC. Edited December 18, 2012 by Belo

josephmrtn
the first report said the rifle was in the trunk of the car... even showed a pic, then the media changed it... i think its cause they want to use this to help push the assault weapons ban.... second report said everyone was shot w rifle, sorry if this is a stupid question but WHY/HOW did he shoot everyone take the rifle back out and then go back inside and kill himself? Culvercreek hunt club
Steve. The military weapon argument is kind of tired. The majority of our hunting guns came from military developments. Revolvers- military. lever actions- Military. Bolt guns- were military developed. Semi Auto loaders. yup you guess it. Military again. Let's not use that as a basis for this discussion. Everyone is hung up on 30 round Mags. In those tight and UNARMED quarters a shotgun would be much deadlier. If our evaluation level is weapon capacity take a semi auto shotgun with a tube extender to 8 shot capacity and load it with F shot which is .22 caliber and a count of 39. That is equivelent to over 8 .....30 round mags. (there is a speed difference but at class room distances dead is dead) It is nuts to give an inch based on emotion and not fight this puish that is coming. If the hunting and target community spit from "other" gun owners it is only time. If you think otherwise you are mistaken. Side step the 2nd once and they will do it again because if you pulled every assault rifle off the street...I mean everyone and even every pistol, This will not stop. It isn't the root of the problem , The guns never have been, but those that want them gone are the problem becasue they are the same ones that feel you can't disciplinge you kids....can't hold people accountable. can't lock people up and leave them there, can't FRY them

steve863
So if guns weren't part of the problem, why don't other civilized nations have nearly a fraction of the murders we do in this country?? Do we simply have more murderous tendencies here or what? If people would still kill as much even without guns, why don't other nations with strict gun laws have a murder rate closer to ours?? You would think they would, right? I simply will NEVER believe that guns don't make it easier, because they do. We had one person here saying that if piano wire was used in a murder we would want to ban pianos. What a lame freaking analogy. Let him show us even one piano wire murder, while guns murder scores of people each and every day in this country. I do want to keep my guns as much as the next guy, but I can see the reality here. I simply won't pretend that the easy availability of guns in this country don't play a part in all this.

Culvercreek hunt club
Steve, We will never agree on this. If they have support then there is an avenue to change the Constitution the proper way. Have at it and put it to rest once and for all. If they can't then they should address the real issues. The pu$$ification of the US that is raising these immoral self indulgent animals.
Elmo
Interesting enough. If the anti keep using Japan as the prime example of a country with almost zero gun ownership and almost zero homicides then they need to point to other countries such as Norway, Switzerland, and Germany which all have high gun ownership but also very little homicides. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_of_guns_per_capita_by_country http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate Note: You can sort the homicides list by clicking on the double arrows next to the rate category heading. Doewhacker
read the news .... not the hype the bushmaster never made it into the school the latest report has everyone being shot by handgun False. "In the school shooting, Connecticut Chief Medical Examiner H. Wayne Carver said all 26 victims were hit multiple times, suffering "devastating" wounds, all apparently traced to the rifle. Connecticut State Police Lt. Paul Vance said Sunday that the shooter used "multiple" 30-round rifle magazines in the attack" "All the victims at the school were shot with a rifle, at least some of them up close, and all were apparently shot more than once, Chief Medical Examiner Dr. H. Wayne Carver said. There were as many as 11 shots on the bodies he examined."

How many people were killed with diesel fuel and fertilizer in Oklahoma? Want to check out the overseas situation? What is the weapon of choice these days over there? .... A nice self detonated explosive vest. They have figured out that guns are just too slow, individualized and inneffective if you want to create the maximum mayhem. I think you are getting a bit behind the times .... lol. You haven't seen anything yet. Wait until some of these wackos start reading newspapers and seeing how it's done in some of these"civilized nations". But anyway, what are you arguing? .... That all guns should be made illegal for private ownership? I mean I haven't heard a more impassioned speech for elimination of private firearms ownership since the last Fienstien speech.
