Anyone build your own shed at the cabin?

We all run out of room at some point inside our cabins,so we build a shed to fit the rest of the junk in.The wife and I built ours at the cabin this past summer for ~$1200.I had priced the ones at Lowes and HD and around the net and found the pricing to be somewhat high, and they were built out of at best, some crappy 2x4 or 2x3, for the same size as the one we built. The concrete pad is 12'x12',the overall of the shed is 12'x~11".I left a foot or so of concrete exposed in the rear for stacking extra wood,a ladder or whatever.I need to build a work bench inside yet,and some shelving, but basically done.I am not a carpenter so don't bust my cookies too bad about it,OK? :) I could have had a nice Amish built shed as or a little bigger for a few hundred more and had it delivered, but found this out after the fact....I would have gone that direction, had I known there was a guy that close. But I'm happy with what I have.

Nice job !

Thanks Ed

Nice job...when I saw that second pic....I thought you were going to put up the double wall/clear green house material to bring in nature light...which gives me an idea...thanks....

YW lol

looks terrific. my amish neighbor builds sheds, nice ones. thinking about stopping in to get a price.

My friend has a cabin next to me there,he had an Amish guy build and deliver his....it may very well be the guy you are talking about...I don't recall his name, but he did have real nice pricing and the shed he delivered to my buddy looks real good.

looks good from here. nice deal with the cement floor easy clean up after hanging deer in there.

Yep! I put a beam up across for better roof support for snow weight and it doubles for a hanging pole for deer.I went to Harbor freight and bought a chain hoist...works great.

looks reel good, just be carefull of the extra foot of concrete

leaving extra concrete exposed can allow water to settle and rot yout wood, maybee put a little tar down

When I bolted down the treated lumber to the concrete,I ran closed cell foam between it and the concrete.....nothing leaks there.I will be putting a gutter there on the back to catch water for a rain bbl, then remove it for winter.

I wanted a chicken coop that looked like an outhouse, yours looks better than what i had in my head . .. lol

I was going for a whimsical look so I made the roof look a little skewed... I haven't quite finished the inside yet, but when I'm done it will look better than many people bathrooms in their home..lol I am working on a cool door for it with a carving of a deer... hopefully have that on next spring.

nyantler ...Did you rip the siding your self off your land...looks great

It came from surronding land, but was not cut by me .. it was cut by the company that sold me the property. My cabin is sided with the same lumber...I hand picked boards with the best character.. some of the boards on the cabin are pretty knarly! I have started trimming the inside of the cabin with similar thinner boards. My baseboard has the same bark side just cut thinner.
