Sogaard
Temporary Social Security Tax reliefs are temporary. Someone has to pay for the 10,000 baby boomers turning 65 (per day) for about the next decade or two. Go go ponzi scheme! Sogaard
The 2% is the Social Security relief that expired in 2012. It was reduced for two years in 2010 from 6.2% to 4.2%. Now it is back to 6.2%. Or are you talking about something else? And if you are, please provide a link so I can read about it.
burmjohn
Is there a good article on the actual impacts?
Sogaard
I can sum it up if you'd like. 2% less money ($200 for every $10k) for the first $113,700. I'll edit this if I can find a good link, or just google "2% tax increase" and you'll get a bunch of hits. Here you go: http://finance.yahoo.com/blogs/just-explain-it/why-taxes-going-2-next-just-explain-195724242.html Edited January 11, 2013 by Sogaard
Culvercreek hunt club
I should have been more clear. They modified the withholding scheduel to milk more out of us up front. Too many people owing. at tax time and they like having your money all year. Tax RATE has not changed yet. I like to owe at the end of the year. I like to have my money not them. So I have to change my exemptions to offset their grab Edited January 11, 2013 by Culvercreek hunt club

Sogaard
Ah...yeah, that sucks, especially after Christmas when people have a lot of bills to pay. The silver lining is that it will even out and you should see less money taken out at the end of the year for the 2013 huntin....err....holiday season. Sogaard
Oh come on CHC, putting those two things side by side and drawing any sort of parallel is completely ridiculous. One is matchstick and the other is the sun.
Culvercreek hunt club
Honestly he made a list he was familiar with and it was accurate. It was not complete but it was accurate. He made no assertion that it was complete. It is about like going after assault weapons to stamp out fireamrs related murders or crime. Might stop a few but won't make a dent Edited January 11, 2013 by Culvercreek hunt club
