Anyone else here - scent free all year?

I have got so use to using scent free shampoo and soap that I use it all year round. I started using it all the time about 3 years ago. It is better in the summer for bugs and it just what I now prefer. Anyone else?

I cant, that soap dries my skin out something horrible by the time the season is over. My fiance hates it when I go scent free as well, she likes the cologne, etc. I start about 2 weeks before season starts and go right up to the end.

Year-round would drive me nuts. The best (meaning least drying out) is the HS green soap.

I actually really only start using it when I need to hit the field and a day or two before season starts. But, I do use it through the season. By MZ season...I'm whining.

Scent what? ......Phfffft, not with the amount of trekking I do over hill and dale! It only takes a tiny bit of sweat to negate efforts of being "scent free".

How much deer urine is needed to catch a deers' nose? Not much.

Don't get me wrong, I do use it through season, but I don't get that crazy about it.

Don't use soap year round(dry skin)but I use spray constantly when in the field checking cameras etc

I have never been sold on the whole scent free thing, I do my best to set stands where the prevailing winds will carry my scent away. With a deers power of smell its almost impossible to remain scent free, we sweat hiking to our stands, we store our boots and gear in areas of the home where they will pick up some kind of scent, then we spray scent killer all over us after eating a pepperoni pizza for lunch and walk out there like we're the invisable man or something.

I don't think most people believe they'll be "scent free"....

I think most people believe it is better than showering in Axe body soap and being doused in Cool Water before heading into the woods.

I love how people say "I set stands on prevailing winds so my scent will blow away..." I see this all of the time in such threads and I can only assume they know half of what they are talking about (in general, no directed at anyone specific) because that step is SO FAR DOWN THE LINE in the process. I mean, why note that step out of all of them when addressing scent? I suspect these same people blow out beds and burn ground without a second thought walking to/from their stand in the "correct" spot.

Due to my wifes extreme allergy to allmost any "good" smell (perfume , cologne, scented deodorants, shampoos) I use unscented bath and laundry products. We clean with unscented, or vinegar based products ect... So yes to scent free, but not because of hunting !

Pretty expensive to use scent-free soap all year.

I used to keep my hunting clothes outside all year-round so they would stay scent-free, one summer the yellowjackets made a nest in one of my hunting jackets, they actually chewed a good part of the material up, I had to throw it out. Now I put them in storage after turkey season and get them out before arhery for deer opens up.

I use scent free due to allergies...so all laundry...and softeners are scent free...I use the hunting stuff for hunting clothes due to brighteners...HS during hunting and Oil of Olay all year...its the only two soaps that don't make me break out in a rash

i've tried a few scent free deodorants, and none seem to keep me as dry as degree. So I still use the scent free the night before when i shower and again in the morning when I hunt but not during the rest of the season.

I aslo agree with wny, the other stuff dries me out. Prefer my irish spring

yeah I use the scent fee detergents too for the same reason, but not the hunting versions. I think we use All free and clear.

Funny you mentioned AXE bodywash. One evening a couple weeks ago I used it and then decided to go out coyote hunting. No time for another shower! Not 10 minutes outta the truck I had shot my first coyote ever. He ran into 30 yds before I plinked him. Wind in my face obviously!

I think scent "dampeners" have their place.

What dampens the scent inside your lungs? Brushing alone won't touch those hard to reach spots. Orbit won't do it. Carbon granules can't taste good. Silver is too valuable to inhale, not to mention hard on tooth enamel. Oh I can see it now, scent blocker inhalers! BreathBomb! LOL

I almost always use unscented deodorant. A lot of the scented stuff can be irritating.

As far as soap, during hunting season I use either Ivory or Kinney Drug brand Beauty bar. Don't laugh. Both have almost no scent. The Beauty bar (god that sounds weird) keeps your skin from drying out. I use it a lot in the off season too.

nice catch phade. What i was trying to type is i don't use the soaps and shampoos and breath mints, etc. and only use the spray close to my stand.

thats what i get for multitasking on a conference call

I take chlorophyll tablets daily that help cut down on body odor and use unscented deodorant .

During hunting season I use Fresh Earth shampoo , soap and laundry detergent . I smell like a fresh dug hole and if there was one my wife would probably push me into it .

I meant that they don't have any perfume smell to them. They just smell like soap.
