Hunter1
Looked like a MOUNTIAN LION to me very big frt shoulders an long tail ?
Water Rat
Even with trail cameras , some photos are inconclusive. Here is a photo that illustrates it. I wish I could just make out the head that's behind the foliage .
sampotter
I don't see the tail , let alone the black tip. I can't make out a tail either but it is a bobcat.

apoallo
if you save the pic and zoom in you can see it did just that and its a little blurry for me but I can see a black tip also
cynthiafu
how do you zoom in?
Water Rat
I "clicked" on the photo to enlarge it...but still have trouble seeing the black tip. If the object that I think I see is the black tip , it would make the tail too long to be that of a bobcat.
Paula
how do you zoom in? click on picture, bottom right corner see the save? when i click on it another page opens with the picture. Then click on view (top of screen) and you should see a zoom
Paula
I think i see the tip of the tail now
Doc
If that is it's tail (and it looks like it is), that cannot be a bobcat. Their tail would not hang down that far. One thing that might help with the ID is some indication as to what state your friend lives in.
First-light
When you do zoom in look at the neck. Seems to have two identical short pointy protrusions sticking up. Short pointy ears like a bobcat.
First-light
Here is a picture of another Bobcat placed in the original photo. Although the color is different, look at the shoulders and tail. Clearly looks to be a Bobcat.
Cabin Fever
If what I'm seeing is a "black tip", it does seem like it has a long tail. Just looked it up, and bobcat tails are 4-7".
