Nice rig ,is it a goodien or getz ? 1/66 twist I assume . I shot one similar with a .595 from Lyman mold with a pillow tick patch that was very accurate

My friend is a member (NOT a carver!) in an organization for horn carvers.  He got interested by a couple guys he met in Pennsylvania a number of years ago.   The put out a very nice magazine……..I don’t recall the name of it though.  The OP is probably a member?

How did you come by it? Is it your first flinter? They are very addictive. Smooth bore or rifled?

I made it. This one is .60 caliber rifled barrel though I have made many fowling guns that I hunt turkeys and geese with. Yes, they are addictive.

Wonderful job on the relief carving and inlays! I built my .58 Kibler from a kit, but do not have the talent to brave more than a few simple highlite lines.
