hueyjazz
Has anyone had the pleasure of using one of the new Thurway rest stops? Talk about missing the mark. First, there extremely limited restrooms. Men's room is 4 urinals and two toilets. And in NY fashion two of them were out of order. The entrance to restroom is furthest from the building entrance. And the line for the food court is directed in front of the restroom entrance. Largest offering in building is an overpriced convivence store stocked with useless items. Very limited food options. Brilliant interpretation of what's required for a rest stop. Two years in the making and this is one of the first.

fasteddie
We took the thruway to Buffalo a month ago . Kept seeing signs that restrooms were not available . Had to get off at an exit to find a restroom . The Thruway stations were all being worked on and boarded up .
bugsNbows
Sounds like typical NYS issues.
SilentStalker
I always thought the rest stops along 95 in CT were nice. Clean, ample room for gas and parking, and decent food options. Who woulda thunk something could be made to so complicated. Oh wait, we live in NY...
Robby
Is that that road that was suppose to be toll free about sixty years ago? Robby 1
LET EM GROW
They've all been under construction around Rochester for months now.. I certainly hope these are setup the same way. That sounds absolutely ridiculous. Not that I use these Service areas much, other than Gas, and when they offered Tim Hortons coffee. Cory
The only good thing about them is they were constructed the 100% union labor. On another thought you would think they would be triple the size. You’re going to need ample space for people to sit as you wait for your car to charge. phade
We use rest stops often during our out of state travels. Can’t say a ton of them are awesome. One in PA just past the line on 90 is good for a restroom break. A few in Ohio are newer and nice looking but equally poorly designed as these new NY ones. Once we get past Ohio most of our stops are pull offs for Love’s or the similar. Then Casey’s when you know you’ve truly hit the Midwest lol. We do have this one spot just east of the Mississippi River where there is not a ton of places. We end up pulling off the off ramp and whizzing right on the side of the on ramp again lol. We’ve hit that spot 3 years in a row.
