BKhunter
I tried looking in the book and maybe I am not looking hard enough, but am I aloud to carry my pistol with me while bow hunting? I know you can't carry a shotgun and bow at the same time, but what about a side arm?

burmjohn
I carry Bear mace. Does that even work? I had a nice scare last weekend. Wasn't threatened but scared the crap out of me 40 yards away walking in near dark in the middle of the woods.

Chef
So what if you hit a bear with a arrow, if you are on private land would you go get a rifle or your side arm before you went to track it? I know I would
waterweasle
you would be breaking the law by following up with a firearm, private land or not Edited October 13, 2014 by waterweasle

I know I would Maybe you shouldn't shoot at one with a bow if you are afraid of the consequences of following one up without a gun? Honestly, I've always liked this NO firearms law while bowhunting. If you want to hunt with a primitive weapon, then one should only carry a bow. Wanting to have a gun at your side for all these "hazards" that one might come upon in the woods is a cop out. Then hunt with guns only if you are afraid to walk around without one.
