wooly
My new camera and lens finally arrived so I took them to the stand this morning. I took it with me this evening too, but forgot to put a memory card in it. Man, did I ever miss out. The last two shots are just fillers from my old camera. More to come soon!

wooly
Thanks guys! The new camera is a Nikon D-3200 with a Nikkor 55-300 VR 4.5-5.6 It's nothing earth shattering, but it's a step up from my old D-3000 with some nice new to me features, and a megapixel bump double plus what my old rig had from 10 to 24MP. It's been a while since I've had a VR (Vibration Reduction) lens as well. That really helped with those low light buck shots at the crack of dawn with a slow shutter speed. Very happy with it so far, but I've only had it a day,lol BTW- anyone notice that row of spots down the back of the second buck? I've never seen that before. Cabin Fever
Damn wooly! Those are beautiful pics! Have you ever considered selling your pics to magazines?
wooly
Damn wooly! Those are beautiful pics! Have you ever considered selling your pics to magazines? Thanks man! I'd sell them but I haven't had many offers....... ok, I haven't had ANY offers, lol That's ok with me though. I enjoy nature photography more than hunting, but this is a great time of year where I can incorporate my two favorite hobbies together. The critters I don't kill teach me more by walking away than any I've popped! I'd be afraid if I ever got paid to do this stuff it would start to feel more like work, and that might take the fun out of it for me.

ATbuckhunter
Wow those are great pics! I always thought about bringing a camera to the stand but i always figured it would be too much of a hassle. If you don't mind me asking, how much did the cam cost you?

wooly
Thanks again guys! The 8pt turned out to be the buck I killed opening day so I was pretty pumped about that! Unfortunately the row of spots down his back had vanished by the time I put a tag on him.
