New York Hillbilly
I’m looking forward to the morning sit. It will be my first one this season. Glad it will be cool temperatures. My fingers are crossed there will be deer, and NO TICKS! With only an 1 1/2 hour sit the other evening, I woke up the next day with a tick buried into my right hip. A freaking tick, even after scanning myself and showering after being out there. Too many tick bites in my lifetime. I hate ticks!!!!

fasteddie
Going to head to Geneseo this morning for a sit in the woods . I hope I can find the stand in the dark . It's going to be cold so I hope these old bones can stand it . I just hope I get a shot . I will be in a double tree stand with a rail but I still plan to wear my safety harness . Happy Hunting to everyone !
Hock3y24
Heading out to 7p in a bit, haven’t been there since youth but usually see a ton of doe funnel past my stand and have a perfect wind. Just need one to follow!

Happy Hunting to everyone ! Things are starting to pickup down there. Have been getting mature bucks the last 3 days over around/on Letchworth. Good Luck. And always take the extra couple seconds to throw the belt on. I will be heading that way here Monday for the next 6 weeks or so. It’s Time!!! New York Hillbilly
Just let another spike live to see another day. Was an easy shot but too little for what I’m shopping for at the moment.
landtracdeerhunter
Forth day of wind. Little chilly around the edges. Plenty of time for venison left.
Hock3y24
Have not seen a tail which is unheard of for this spot, gonna give it an hour then relocate in nothing
wolc123
All the action here in wmu 9F is still within 1/2 hour of sunrise and sunset. A 2.5 yr buck walked by about 75 yards out at sunrise. Neck was swollen and appeared to be searching. This 1.5 yr 3-point fed on wheat for 5 minutes at under 20 yard range. My first legit “pass” of the SZ archery season on my first day of hunting it (I wait till crossbow opens). Just about ready to pull the plug on the morning hunt at our place. My next one will be Sunday morning over at my parents (nephew’s wedding is in between). I think the peak rut is going to kick off in another day or two. I may do (2) all day sits next weekend (one here and one at my parents).
Tughill Tamer
Gearing up for a trip to the private land. It's chilly and for the first time in days the wind is under 10 mph. Good luck to everyone out.Sent from my moto g power (2022) using Tapatalk
Cory
Depressing day. No deer movement since last night (cams). It’s like clock work around my piece of what used to heaven. Neighbor moved in about 7 years ago and deer sightings have diminished. As soon as November 1st comes around that’s when he starts his wood gathering . 4 wheelers and dirt bikes all day through the woods. Also decides to have the Amish over to start replacing the rotted logs on the house. Is it too much to ask to start these projects in September? Good luck out there boys. Sorry for the rant. Hock3y24
Good sit tonight with my dad, seen 4 buck and 4 doe, of course the only one he was about to get a shot at was grunting and chasing a doe. None of the others cared about the doe.
fasteddie
Was in the double stand by 6:15 . Sat back and relaxed as legal time was &:10 am . I had aa heck of a time cocking the crossbow before getting into the stand . A tad after 8 , 3 doe came up through the woods about 80 yards away . Lost sight of them in the thickets . About the same time a doe on the other side of the ditch and blew . She was up wind of me but might have scented me . That was it . My son didn't see any deer . The corn was down and the field was cleared . I might try Mendon Tuesday afternoon . In the meantime I am considering buying a rope crank for my crossbow . I had no trouble cocking the Xbow when I was checking it out in the back yard but had a heck of a time in the woods .
landtracdeerhunter
Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour. Means it gets light an hour earlier in the morning and dark an hour earlier in the evening. Hello 5 am. Again.
squirrelwhisperer
Forgot about the clocks so I am up an hour too early. Very excited about my first sit of the year this morning. Going to the swamp stand. Took a nice 8 from that stand last year around this time of year. Hope to start seeing some bucks down soon. Good luck to everyone going out. One doe ran between two pIne trees and laId down. Army win 7-0 record! Now back to hunting what a beautiful morning. Good luck all.

landtracdeerhunter
Frost on the ground, and bucks are moving. Grandchildren built a new blind yesterday. Sat there this am. Long story short, ended up passing on a 3 year old at 40 yards broadside. Thought long and hard on that one
Hock3y24
Buck followed that does trail from this am at 0815, decided to take him. Got me excited and that’s all I needed. 15 yard shot went 30 and fell over. Onto PA.

New York Hillbilly
I’ve seen almost as many coyotes as deer from the stand I’ve been in, so trying something different. I moved way to the top ridge of my property where I seldom hunt. There are 4 active scrapes 15 yards directly in front of me, and 2 on the trail behind me. It’s pretty up here, slightest of breezes, and comfy in 7M. Happy Sunday!
