growalot
or new book ... Where men have started to use the word "silly"? THIS IS NOT A SLIGHT OR DIG! I'm honestly curious...for I rarely hear woman use that word... let alone men and it's caught my eye several times...like it's become the trendy word of late. REMEBER NOT A DIG..... phade
Glad you fixed here...to hear....now just change woman to women and the irony of this whole thread goes away....and I'm not digging nor getting specific/critical, I promise. Just an observation. Commanding the English language is never a bad thing. I rank it as effective as alcohol as far as its effect on women and their ability to judge. phade
You're just being silly. Of course. I almost made a thread about noticing the trend of women incoherently babbling. The more I thought about it, the less I liked the idea of speaking truth. That's silly. Grow, have some fun here. Don't take this too seriously.

philoshop
Grow, I find myself using the word 'silly' more and more, as it seems fewer and fewer people understand the word 'inane'. Example: "Phade's misogynistic inanity in the above posts is silly."

Grow, I think this sums it up: Napoleon complex is a pejorative term describing a psychological condition which is said to exist in people, both men and women, of short stature. It is also known as 'Napoleonic Complex'. [1] It is characterized by overly-aggressive or domineering social behavior, and carries the implication that such behaviour is compensatory for the subject's stature. The term is also used more generally to describe people who are driven by a perceived handicap to overcompensate in other aspects of their lives. Other names for the term include Napoleon syndrome[2] and Short Man syndrome. Phade is Phade take it or leave it. Being I'm not knew and have been dealing with him for a while I no better and just brush it off. He does contribute and has some knowledge of dear and dear hunting……..or may be not. lol Edited February 27, 2015 by First-light

I expressed pretty clearly to have some fun and not take this too seriously. I have plenty of errors in my posts as well, so don't feel like I am being high and mighty, OK.As far as my comment being inane, meh, but I can see how that comes across. Women have been sweet talked since language was used instead of clubbing over the head. I don't think anyone would disagree. Same goes for guys for the record, I just don't have experience with that personally. The babbling was an exercise in using "silly." And for the record, I have to say I women are better at alot of things...work or home. More even keeled when pressure is on... The Napolean complex is a little boggling to me, but hey, I've been called worse! If the shoe fits, I will wear it! Definitely no experience in dear and dear hunting though, lol. steve863
I have no problem with a guy using the word "silly". It's in the dictionary, so I guess it can be used appropriately. I do however draw the line on men getting manicures and pedicures. Most especially if they are hunters. These dudes should be banned from the sport forever. These guys have some nerve gutting a deer with manicured fingernails! Now that is just too much to handle!!
growalot
This isn't a question against men using the word "silly". It is my trying to figure out why,all of a sudden, it's being used so often...like a " Buzz" word. Nothing more should be read into the question than that....Is it something being said in main stream?
steve863
I have not observed that the word "silly" is being used more often than in the past. If any words annoy me, it words like "hashtag", "tweet", and other modern nonsense like that. When I hear the media say that such and such a celebrity "hashtaged" or "tweeted" this or that I cringe. Like who gives a flying f--- what any of these clowns think or want to say?? Compared to this kind of nonsense, someone saying "silly" would be welcomed. Kids can be "silly". Nothing wrong with anyone saying that in my opinion.
phade
I don't really notice buzzwords like that. I notice phrases that seem to get hot...like "seeing the big picture." That's a buzz phrase of late.
