I'm always worried people will steal my ground blind if I leave it in woods same with stands I kinda of getting  tired of bringing them in and out every time I hunt my new idea I think I'm going to try is make one with cardboard and duck tape and the natural vegetation and some paint worse case if they take it or smash it know big deal .  Just wondering how many guys have had there stuff disappear from the woods . And any ideas on how to prevent it from happening.

This didn't take long to make Lashed a few fallen logs together for solid shooting rails too.
Thankfully my ladder stand on 70 acres of private land has been up for many years and not disappeared. Left our pop up blind out for turkey hunting over a month and it stayed put. Luckily I don't have to deal with trespassing 14e2e184b18c4d9af478b6918f76858a.jpg

just one recommendation, if you build something in the woods out of cardboard, duct tape or any other man made material, please take it out at the end of the season if you're on public land........I found myself cleaning up some crap like that this past year. I'm not directing this at anyone, just a thought I'd throw out there.

I had the same idea about building bushcraft blinds on public lands, so I called my local region office to ask what the specific rules are for this.  You "legally" need a permit to leave any man made materials on State Forest or WMA land overnight.  I asked if I could build a structure using all natural materials with only using hemp twine to tie it together.  Their reply is that hemp or sisal cordage would be ok to use since it rots when left out in the weather.  All other materials need to be taken out at the end of the day.  This may very well differ by region or individual public land area.

Just sayin ;)

If anyone wants to steal a blind or stand bad enough , they will take it . Even locks aren't going to stop anyone from stealing . What irks me is the low life that tears a stand apart on private property and tosses the parts or takes part of the stand to disable it .

Ditto that as well!!

the one or two ground blinds I use are made out of discarded Christmas trees....drive around and load up the truck and drag em out right after the Holiday is over, they hold up fairly well for a few years with just some patching up now and then.

I install and remove Real Estate signs and cover quite a bit of area . I havn't seen any of the fake Christmas trees tossed out in years .

You are always taking a chance when you leave personal property out in the woods. I've had a lot of stuff stolen over the years, what I've noticed is the more people that frequent an area, the better chance of having your stuff disappear. The more chains and locks used, the better chance you have of keeping stands secured, but as mentioned, if someone wants to destroy/steal your stand badly enough, they will find a way.

That looks awesome.

One can also buy camo fabric (though some brands I've read about them running the paint off quite quickly) and lash a few bits of that together. I can't imagine too many people stealing some fabric hung over a dead tree limb.

This is cheap enough to play with. A log or two and some paracord to hang it from (reviews are hit and miss, though):
