I really wanted to get a mount for my phone. I looked all over but I didn't like anything I could find....I may try and get a mount for my phone and just mount it to my tree stand...I took some video with my phone last year...I had deer come out of the ravine to my left right at me and he was extremely wide. I got so excited, when he wasn't coming right at me I saw he was only a 4pt (biggest 4pt ever) so he got a pass and I tried to video him. I was shaking so bad you can barely make out that there is a deer in the video....never mind the fact that it was a giant 4pter.....

I might a little.... mostly film others though especially new hunters.  SONY cam going up in the tree with me at some point.  Nikon that is about 3X more money will only go out with me in a blind.  I wouldn't want to drop it out of a tree or have it get wet.  films in HD though.  we'll see.

I have done this, I highly suggest mounting it to a hat brim instead. The problem I had was the vibration in the bow ends up making the shot blurry until you settle down and at that point the deer is gone. Take it out back and shoot her at a target and see what I mean. Maybe it was just my bow but it didn't work very good for me. Also trying to remember to follow the deer with the bow after the shot is hard to remember but you always follow the deer with your head.

I did record a shot and it jumped like crazy. I definitely dont want that weight on my head but will look for a way to mount to the stand. I think my friend has a "snake" mount that can clip to things like a stand rail

Just had a cool encounter with a doe, full draw, she stops behind a tree for 1,000 years, I let down and her fawn busts me. Not the end of the world and I have it on video! Wrong, the GoPro is dead even though I charged it Thursday. I hate this thing it's always been temperamental

I wonder if there is a mount for these that could go on your left wrist. That would fix the hat-brim-weight issue mentioned above and take out most of the jolting issue from the bow. If the camera was mounted high up the left forearm jutting out to the side it wouldn't get in the way of anything.

I see on amazon there are some wrist mounts. You'd have to rotate the video in post processing but I think it could be an option. Ideally you'd have a bunch of still cameras around your tree stand but it gets too much of a hassle to manage it all. In a few years they'll be selling new "video heads". Broadheads with a tiny camera in them.

Good luck it can be hard to get it on film and do a good shot and adds another dimension to your hunt.  If you capture it you will have it for ever.  I am looking into getting a regular cam with a swing arm because the gopro  has no zoom.

This was a 25 yard shot with the Go-Pro.  Look like 50 yards!  I had the camera on my head.

Nice vid!  Despite the lack of zoom, it's better than many I've see on YouTube.

At the moment, I'm going to stick to writing.  Ha...  That's a whole new rabbit-hole, and I can imagine myself slipping right on down without much effort.
