Group Photos and Season in Review

My hunting buddies and I have this goal of getting a group shot when someone downs a buck. Part of it is just to document the fun we have. The other part is that we drive and push each other to be better hunters.

People are afraid of failure. Most days there are no hero shots and we learn from mistakes.

But, as time goes on, you look back and all of a sudden, there's a lot of damn group photos. Especially this year and here is just a few of them. Anyone else do group photos? Post them up.

Nice picts love the B&W. I take group photos at my camp. They line the cabin walls, documenting our hunting seasons! My neighbors camp does a group photo at the end of opening week before they all leave. Deer are hanging in the background. Those who have shot deer are sitting in chairs others are standing. Every year someone has to leave early so I get the job to photoshop them into the bigger picture!

Sweet shots for you guys to hang onto for years to come! Great job from someone who can really appreciate the time and effort that goes into this step!

I know everybody doesn't get into the whole posing for field photo thing, but it's definitely a great way for you and others to look back on your hunts when you document them that way.

Those are some wallhangers for sure.....

The bucks, AND the pics! :good:

Very nice set of group photos there phade!

I'm pretty much a loner in the deer woods. Except for my hunting buddy, best friend and property partner. But I have some old Polaroid and 35mm pic's of the "old" guy's  who were my mentors. When I look at those old pictures, it vividly brings me back to that day and hunt! Now I'm looking forward to a group picture with my grandson with his deer! That will be the icing on the cake to a long line of group photos. That someday will be his "old" photos with grampy.

I love to see these pictures. In this day of horn hunting, so many deer hunters have lost the togetherness that hunting has meant for so many years and generations. They get so caught up in shooting the biggest buck that they lose out on a ton of fun. There is nothing wrong with sharing the fun and burden of scouting and setting up stands. And, there is nothing wrong with sharing the joy and accomplishment of killing some nice deer. Some years you may be the odd one out, but you can still be a part of group.

I'm 5'-6" and weigh 140#. As often as not, when we did group shots (during the drinking hours) I'd be hanging upside-down by my leg along the 'deer pole'. It was humiliating trying to drink a beer upside-down, and I need my safe space now.:cheese:

I miss every bit of it.
