Where is NYS's version of Donald Trump

So, what do you think? Is there any possibility that a Donald Trump kind of candidate could come along and overturn the socialist status-quo of this state? Someone without the pinko mind-set that is so prevalent in this state. Someone that could pull off the unlikely state upset as Trump did federally. Someone who could put this state back onto the right-thinking direction before this we become irreparably bankrupt (financially, and morally, and constitutionally)? Or are we just destined to ride this sewer until it destroys itself. What do you all think? Anyone have any such candidates in mind?

Unfortunately until that appendage at the bottom of the state floats off to sea we will always be a commi state. They run our elections and don't think the same way we do

Nope.  If there's any chance of this Rob Astorino would've one last election.  I mention this in another thread. Andrew Como didn't run away with the last election. He could've very easily been beat.

 

Stoneam.  I have to disagree. Go check out the polling results of last gubernatorial race. New York City clearly did not get Cuomo elected. The rest of the state DIDN'T get Astorino elected.

And staten island went republican during the election.  So nyc was not the reason cuomo won.

Idk how you can say that when if you look at map majority is red. Look where the blue is. NYC and their mass amt of people

According to those numbers cuomo won by 500k votes.  Not every voter in nyc voted for Cuomo.  I cant imagine the rest of NYS couldnt get 500k votes.  Where was all of upstate ny?   They easily could have won the election for Astorino.  There are 16 million votes that never got cast across the state.

I had to think about this for a bit, Doc. Two big issues come to mind: First is that there is no one else quite like Donald Trump.The second issue is that the people of NYS just aren't quite pi**ed off enough, yet, but Trump's Presidency may just change the overall thinking in a number of blue States over the next few years with respect to both the voters and the potential candidates for State office.

20 million people live in New York State. Only 2 million people voted for Cuomo.   So that leaves 18 million votes that could be cast for anyone.  Instead of blaming New York City for supposedly running the election, Why doesn't everybody else in upstate New York get out and vote.

The 5 blue counties in the middle of the state house ithaca, syracuse, buffalo, binghamton, and albany hmm wonder why they voted blue? Not many Rep. in those areas.

I called the election wrong but nonetheless an NY Trump seems inconceivable to me. The state is so hopelessly coopted by the left that there is no room for an anti-establishment candidate unless he is from the left and a socialist or marxist.

18,000,000 votes did not go to Andrew Cuomo. That's my point. Where were all of the upstate New Yorkers when the time counted?   Everybody keeps blaming New York City but they didn't get him elected. people from upstate did not get off their butts to vote and this is what happened. its undeniable.  Nyc is gonna go dem.  And they had one county go republican!  If anyone is to blame its not nyc.

NYS could go red i guess.  But i have nothing to support that idea. Nobody outside of nyc wants to vote otherwise we would have Astorino in office right now.  Possibly no safe act as well.

The last election was a Romney kind of election... no excitment to get the voters out. The reason Trump and obama one is they were able to create excitement. A 'not a city democrate' isnt enough. We need a canidate that can actully stir the souls of voters and get them to the poles.

A NY Trump, no.  A Republican with a chance at Governor.  I'd say Chris Gibson has the best chance.

You have to wonder what made it all work for Pataki. I can't remember who he ran against, but it must have been a real loser. You have to be pretty bad to lose a Governor's election to a Republican here....lol. But I am curious as to what formula he used to create that miracle.

And then there was always good ol' Rockefeller, but we know what his secret was. He was just the Socialist Republican that out-liberaled anyone that the Democrats could put up.

First I was thinking of his daughter Ivanka who came up with the family assistance plan, but I would vote for any of them before a Dem. Second what difference does residency matter, don't you remember Hillary carpet bagging here to run for senate. BTW I wrote this yesterday but didn't get a chance to post cause of other distractions then woke up and saw Hillary is thinking of running for mayor of NYC. She lives in Westchester where she owns two multi million dollar mansions but I'm sure the liberal sheeple would elect her. Maybe she can get a subsidized apt like Wrangel got caught using for an office.

He beat Cuomo's dad and he was a downstate Republican that was far from Conservative.
