46 pound yote

Two nights ago my phone goes off at 1:15 AM.  My hunting buddy dropped a 46 pound yote, according to the text message.  Near Utica.

We went out this past weekend for a short time and there were tracks just about everywhere.

Admittedly I don't do a lot of Coyote hunting, but 46 lbs isn't considered that big or is it? The Brittany Spaniel I had was always in the mid 40's range. I didn't really consider him very big.

That's a huge Dog but I believe it have seen them over 40 a few times from guys who trap all over the state. They get big if givin the chance

40s is a big dog. Most are in the 25-35 pound range. And most people that do not weigh them tend to guess them more than they actually are. They have a lot of hair this time of year.

There's been some 45-50 pounders taken out of Erie county over the years. Although that's a big un for sure. Buddy caught a big female 2 years ago that may have hit that mark. She had barely any teeth left and an old smart girl for sure. He that day was just a little smarter. 30-35 pounds is a nice coyote

A couple of years ago my. Rother and I shot 44 and 46lb coyotes here in Tioga county. A wise old trapper buddy told us they were as large as he has seen.

Asked buddy for some pics. First one measures as a medium a little "long arm" but 2 big ones Friend and son definitely have predators figured out. His son at 13 knows his stuff. But always learning too

i know of a couple guys you just call them up in canada.  they take over a 100 every season.  some hunters it's more of a passion than deer and they've got it down.  maybe i'll get out this year.  any time is a good time but i'd rather take them later in the season.
