My new personal best pike!

My new personal best Northern Pike caught on 8/27/17, and on a kayak!  He hit hard on a SpinnerBait ripping through weeds! Scale showed him at 11 pounds but he probably weighed a little more because while sitting in kayaks weighing him, holding him up as high as we could reach, his tail was still in the water.

Nybuckboy, yeah he was definitely towing the kayak for a bit and then tried burying himself down in the weeds; was a good fight. On the release it took him a few minutes holding him by the kayak for him to regain himself but then he was released in good shape.

Whatta beauty !! Congrats.. A pike like that is my dream freshwater fish. I've caught them, but not like that one..

I fish in a kayak also,(mostly saltwater), so I really recognize your skill..I get dragged a lot also...lotsa fun

Nice Gator......He be 'lebenty pounds plus.....Back in the glory days of Seneca Lake I weighed lots of them..   We would sometimes catch 20-30 pike in a morning's fishing, and fish weighing in the double digits were not rare...

NY has great Northern pike fishing !!!  people pay to go to canada and am sure its a great trip but have caught a lot of nice ones here in NY for sure .  Nice catch!
