WNY Bowhunter
Since this season is off too the slowest start that I've seen in years, I finally got around to mounting up a deadhead for a friend of mine that he found back in 2011. This buck was obviously a serious scrapper which is why he chose this form. Unfortunately for the buck, a slug in the lower jaw eventually brought him down...hopefully, the coyotes found him quickly.
moog5050
Is that the revolution form Jason or a different one? Looks good. I have one that is similar and it was a revolution.

Without knowing the details, how is this person a POS? Bullet could have hit a unseen twig and deflected. I don't want to muddy up this thread with this discussion, even though it an old thread but I'm more then willing to discuss my stance on hack hunters.

Again, how do you know its a hack hunter? I've hit twigs I didn't see in the scope. Lost a great buck few yrs back that dropped in his tracks at the shot, only to get right up and run. Never found that buck. And I'm by know means a hack hunter.

My guess is this deer was shot on a drive. The former property owner's family used to be big into drive hunting. Most stand hunters use rifles these days but alot of shotguns are still used for the close, quick shots you tend to get on drives.
mowin
We're in the SZ. Never used shotguns. Did a ton of drives thought. But our drives are a slow deliberate type. Shot some nice bucks on drives.

It's crazy how different the hunting styles are within the state. I've only hunted in the 4U area and a little in the Catskill MTS. BTW. The mount looks great. I like the aggressive look.
